Festival No. 6 announce Sgt Pepper’s 50th anniversary celebrations

28th July 2017 Off By Sam Warrenger

Gwynedd’s Festival No. 6 have dedicated the Sunday of the festival to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Celebrations will star the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra & The Bootleg Beatles performing on the main stage, plus a Sgt. Pepper’s themed carnival,  pop-up immersive performances, live spectacles, installations, talks, screenings from Culture Liverpool and Beatles surprises across the festival site, all inspired by the seminal album.

The festival, headlines by Bloc Party, The Flaming Lips, and Mogwai, promise to have resolved flooding issues within the car park which last year saw festival goers stranded with countless vehicles stuck or underwater. The festival also offers train travel packages via Virgin Trains which include a shuttle bus from Bangor station. Alternatively, festival goers may wish to travel on the Cambrian line and organise their own transport from Minffordd or Porthmadog stations.
