Leeds Reading lineup receives mixed reception from fans13th February 2018
Leeds & Reading festivals have today released their 2018 lineup, featuring headline performances from Fall Out Boy, Kendrick Lamar, and Kings of Leon.
They join a varied lineup featuring performances from Wolf Alice, Panic! At The Disco, Sum 41, Skepta, and Wretch 32.
Reading’s closing Sunday night, and Leeds’ opening Friday night, will also include performances from The Courteeners, The Wombats, and Diplo.
The announcement received a mixed reaction from fans on Twitter, and many were so critical of the festival’s choices they felt the need to share their own preferred lineup.
This was a year they could’ve got Catfish and the Bottlemen, Royal Blood, AM, Foos, The Vaccines, but got Fall out Boy and Panic! At the disco.. seriously? It’s a 2012 emo’s dream #RandL18

Where are acts like Arctic Monkeys, Liam Gallagher, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Vaccines, Foo Fighters or Royal Blood? Massive fuck up. Can see Fiat 500 twitter having a field day with that line up. #RANDL18

Charlie Burgess joked about the fate of those who’d purchased early bird tickets.
New favourite game…
Find someone who's already got their Reading or Leeds ticket and watch them trying to tell you why the lineups not actually that bad #RandL18

Josh’s selective vision found clues pointing to a Arctic Monkeys secret set at Reading and/or Leeds this summer.

Some were pleased with the lineup, featuring a wide variety of acts from across the genres. With an increased capacity of 110,000 and a multiplicity of stages, you’ll likely struggle to find yourself bored at Reading or Leeds despite the reaction on social media. A widely circulated ‘leaked’ lineup poster was proved to be false, and it seems much of the criticism centres on the absence of big name acts from the fabricated poster.
Oh, so you don't like Kings of Leon or Fall Out Boy at #RandL18 Twitter? Well, thankfully you can choose to see Kendrick Lamar, Wolf Alice, Bicep, Dua Lipa, Skepta, The Wombats, Diplo or dozens of other acts instead. Seriously, stop fucking whining about everything, people.
