Mumford & Sons have been announced as the latest headliner for Rock Werchter 2026, set to top the bill on the festival’s Main Stage on Thursday, 2 July. The Belgian festival will take place from Thursday, 2 July to Sunday, 5 July at the Festivalpark in Werchter. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale at 10am on Friday, 21 November.
The band joins a growing list of major acts confirmed for the four-day event. Previously announced headliners include The xx for Friday, 3 July, while Gorillaz and Twenty One Pilots will both perform on Saturday, 4 July. The Cure are set to close the festival on Sunday, 5 July. Organisers promise that more names will be added to the line-up soon.
Fans hoping to secure their place at the festival can take advantage of a pre-registration system, which grants early access to tickets. Those interested can sign up now via the official festival website, rockwerchter.be.
The announcement comes during a period of high creative output for the band. A new album, titled ‘Prizefighter’, is set for release on 13 February 2026. This follows their 2025 album ‘Rushmere’, which was named after the place where the band first began. The group, led by frontman Marcus Mumford, is also set to play a sold-out show at the AFAS Dome in Antwerp tomorrow.

This will mark the band’s fifth appearance at Rock Werchter, with organisers highlighting the “special bond” between them and the festival. A statement described the group’s performances as bringing “joy, energy, singalongs and connection,” calling it a “recipe for pure festival magic.” The band first emerged from the West London folk scene, finding massive success with their 2009 debut album ‘Sigh No More’, which featured tracks like ‘Little Lion Man’ and ‘The Cave’.
Rock Werchter is recognised as Belgium’s biggest music festival, known for its eclectic mix of genres with rock at its core. The event has received multiple international awards and is celebrated for its world-class performances, high-quality facilities, and unique atmosphere, making it a key date in the global music calendar.
