Rockstar Energy presents TRNSMT has announced that soulful R&B singer Skye Newman is the latest artist to join the 2026 lineup. The viral sensation turned chart-topper is set to perform on Sunday, 21st June, joining a massive closing day bill headlined by Lewis Capaldi.
Skye Newman burst onto the music scene through social media, amassing over 1.2 million followers on TikTok and 550,000 on Instagram. Her debut official single “Hairdresser” went viral, paving the way for her breakout track “Family Matters,” which broke into the UK top 10 singles chart earlier this year.
The announcement marks a significant moment for the rising star, who has previously supported Sunday headliner Lewis Capaldi on tour and performed alongside Ed Sheeran. Inspired by the storytelling of rap and the emotional depth of soul, Newman cites influences ranging from Amy Winehouse to Eminem. Her rapid ascent has already seen her sell out an upcoming show at the O2 Academy Glasgow.
Festival Director Geoff Ellis recently highlighted that the 2026 edition will take place earlier in the summer than usual, running from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st June at Glasgow Green. “There is no better way to kick off summer than with an incredible weekend of live music and that unbeatable Scottish crowd,” Ellis said.

The Sunday lineup features a strong contingent of pop and indie talent. Alongside Newman and Capaldi, fans can expect performances from multi-platinum Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald, pop powerhouse Perrie, and indie favourites Two Door Cinema Club.
The festival opens on Friday, 19th June, with headliner Richard Ashcroft, supported by Wolf Alice and Nile Rodgers & CHIC. Saturday, 20th June, will see high-octane anthems from Kasabian, with support from The Snuts and The Fratellis, who are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Costello Music.
