Trentham Live are thrilled to announce the final of the headline acts for their 2024 music spectacular. This year, the 4-day music event is bigger and better than ever before having announced Busted, Jess Glynne and Manic Street Preachers so far. The event takes place from Thursday 15th August through to Sunday 18th August 2024. Four amazing shows in one unique setting!
Thursday 15th August will see the fabulous Deacon Blue headline the stage set against a backdrop of the stunning Trentham Estate opening Trentham Live 2024 for an exciting weekend ahead.
Formed in 1985, thirty-six years after releasing their iconic debut album, Raintown, Deacon Blue, last year released ‘All The Old 45s’ – The Very Best of Deacon Blue together with a career-spanning anthology box set You Can Have It All – The Complete Albums Collection.
The band have always thrived onstage and are very much looking forward to this Summer’s outside events including their performance at The Trentham Estate in August where they look forward to performing their hits including Dignity, Loaded, Wages Day, Real Gone Kid, I’ll Never Fall In Love Again, Your Swaying Arms, Twist & Shout, Your Town, The Hipsters and City Of Love and many more. Vocalist and songwriter Ricky Ross is raring to go on this celebration of Deacon Blue’s brilliant back catalogue with their loyal fans. “We can’t wait to get on stage at Trentham and play All The Old 45s in such a stunning location”.
It’s a lifetime, yet no time at all, since Deacon Blue first roared their gospel according to hope, work, dignity, and Scottish towns beset with rain. We’re still taking cover under their words. Everything and nothing’s changed. We still need their songs in our cities of love, in our hearts, in our homes, in these hurricane days.
Deacon Blue are Ricky Ross, co-vocalist Lorraine McIntosh, Dougie Vipond (drums), Jim Prime (keyboards), Gregor Philp (guitar) and Lewis Gordon (bass).
Following the fantastic response to their arena tour last year, Deacon Blue are looking forward to performing countless chart-topping hits promising a night of unforgettable music and entertainment within the stunning Trentham Estate grounds.

The event is now hailed as a firm family favourite in the event calendar, with a growing number of families choosing it as their first live music experience with young children along with a great selection of food vendors.

The famed Trentham Gardens includes the very important Italianate Gardens designed by Charles Barry in the 1830s, which have been lovingly restored using top landscape designers. The gardens feature the UK’s first ‘barefoot’ walk, as well as a fantastic children’s adventure play area and maze, and a beautiful walk around the mile-long lake, originally laid out by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown in the 18th century. Trentham is also home to Trentham Garden Centre and the expanded Shopping Village, an eclectic mix of shops and eateries with a 119-bedroom Premier Inn Hotel.
Trentham is a conservation and biodiversity hotspot, with the Monkey Forest offering visitors the opportunity to walk amongst 140 free roaming Barbary macaques, in a natural woodland environment for this endangered species. Trentham boasts extensive woodlands with the formal conservation designation as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), with the wider estate providing grazing for rare breed herds and wild black fallow deer and most recently the reintroduction of Eurasian Beavers and endangered water voles.
