Lancashire’s newest music festival OAK FEST is back on 27th July at Oak Hill Park in Accrington. Set amongst the beautiful 21.4 acre park, OAK FEST will return for its second year on the back of a hugely successful inaugural festival held in 2023. The first ever OAK FEST attracted 5,000 people to Oak Hill Park.
This year, organisers are planning to go bigger and better with the first paid ticketed format and an ambitious and exciting line up including international touring artists such as Kate Nash. The festival will welcome the British pop icon as the headline act, on the back of the release of a brand new album and a performance at Glastonbury Festival in June. Other acts taking to the stage include Manchester legends Bez and Rowetta, Amsterdam indie pop powerhouse Pip Blom and New Orleans brass and 90s dance fusion band Mr Wilson’s Second Liners.
A homegrown talent stage will also be curated by local promoters and as well as music there’ll be plenty of other fun activities for kids and grown ups too including silent Disco, crafts and more. Plus there will be a community makers market and a feast of independent street food.
A free shuttle bus will also take festival goers to the site directly from Accrington train station.
OAK FEST is one of the best value festivals in the country, with a general admission ticket costing just £25. There’s also special family ticket options available – two adults and two children or three adults and one child can have a full family day out for £66.25. Under 5s go free to the festival. OAK FEST is part of a wider vision which places culture at the heart of a strategy aiming to establish Accrington as a place where creatives from Lancashire and beyond can thrive. OAK FEST will bring this vision to life with a vibrant, high profile, nationally recognised programme that will attract visitors from across the regions. The festival has been commissioned as part of a new culture and heritage programme delivered for Hyndburn and Accrington by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
