New Taylor Swift album sparks BRIT Award betting frenzy

Taylor Swift

Following the announcement of her 12th studio album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, Taylor Swift has immediately been made the odds-on favourite to win a major award at the 2026 BRITs. Bookmaker William Hill has positioned the pop superstar at just 1/3 to scoop the prize for International Artist of the Year.

The announcement has caused a stir in betting markets, though not all odds are in her favour. Despite the excitement around the new record, Swift is considered a 25/1 outsider to perform the theme song for the next James Bond film. Raye currently leads that market at 7/4, with Dua Lipa close behind at 2/1.

Lee Phelps, a spokesperson for William Hill, commented on the prediction, stating: “Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ is set to be another pop culture phenomenon, if any of her recent album releases are anything to go by, and we believe the American popstar is destined for major recognition at the BRITs next year.”

Taylor Swift is odds-on with William Hill to scoop the 2026 BRIT Award for International Artist of the Year following the announcement of her new album The Life of a Showgirl. The American pop superstar is 1/3 to take home the annual prize.

Despite the excitement following the announcement of Swift’s 12th studio album, her odds to perform the next James Bond theme tune remain long, currently priced at 25/1. Raye leads that market at 7/4, followed by Dua Lipa (2/1) and Chappell Roan (6/1). Lana del Rey and Lady Gaga are 7/1 and 8/1 respectively, with Harry Styles rounding out the top six at 10/1.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl is set to be another pop culture phenomenon, if any of her recent album releases are anything to go by, and we believe the American popstar is destined for major recognition at the BRITs next year. We make it a 1/3 chance that she scoops the International Artist of the Year award at the prestigious ceremony.

“Swift is also in contention to be named the TIME Person of the Year, priced at 20/1, with the likes of Pope Leo XIV (2/1) and President Donald Trump (5/2) also in the running.

“It’s less likely for the popstar to sing the next James Bond theme; Swift is a 25/1 outsider behind the likes of Raye (7/4), Dua Lipa (2/1) and Chappell Roan (6/1).”
