Multi-platinum selling British soul singer Kenny Thomas, who rose to prominence with a string of hits in the 90s, has today released his brand new album ‘Unstoppable’, his first in 15 years.

The album, on which Classic Pop magazine commented ‘… Thomas still sings like a dream’ in a rave review, was preceded by the huge singles ‘If I Can’t Have You’, the BBC Radio 2-featured collaboration with Kenny’s long-time friend Kim Wilde ‘Shout Out’, and the infectious ‘Stand Up for Love’.

Amongst the originals on the album, there is also an emotional re-working of ‘Thinking About Your Love’, Kenny’s iconic track that saw him first emerge as one of British music’s most soulful voices in the early 1990’s.

For anyone familiar with Kenny’s classic soul hits from this era, also including songs likes ‘Outstanding’, ‘Best Of You’ and ‘, the irresistible energy and infectious grooves of these 11 new songs will be instantly familiar. For fans and newcomers alike, the wisdom of Kenny’s voice is utterly compelling, even when it’s bouncing over seemingly carefree bangers.

The album marks an incredible career resurgence story for Kenny, who has collaborated on ‘Unstoppable’ with Stockholm based musician Opolopo (Jungle, Gregory Porter, Omar), and Eliot Kennedy – one of Kenny’s original creative partners on his 90s hits – who has also worked with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Mary J Blige, Gary Barlow and Bryan Adams.

From his 90s heyday of multi-platinum singles and albums, BRIT Award nominations and an incredible run of Top of the Pops performances (9 performances in just 3 years), Kenny’s life took an abrupt turn in dealing with the incredibly rare terminal illness of his daughter Christina.

Through miraculous endeavour however, involving rare treatment Kenny worked to provide funding for, Christina survived, though still requires regular care.

This incredible turn-around in recent years ran in tandem with a resurgent musical career which has seen Kenny re-establish himself, and then some. In 2024 he completed his biggest ever UK tour, which included a sold out show at the London Palladium.

On this momentous comeback, Kenny says: “What a journey it’s been so far! I’m extremely excited about the upcoming release of my new album ‘Unstoppable’. It’s my first studio album in 15 years and honestly, I think it’s some of my best work to date. I’m sure my fans will connect with it and enjoy listening to it.”

With ‘Unstoppable’, Kenny returns with a pertinently titled new album that harks back to the soulful sound his fans know and love, whilst adding in a modern funk sound full of bombastic beats, bold rhythms and blazing bass lines, delivered just in time for the hottest days of summer.

Ahead of the album’s release, Kenny recently performed a set with online sensation DJ AG, which garnered huge views across TikTok and Instagram, and has earned Kenny new fans as well as some famous names rediscovering Kenny’s music; with the likes of Naomi Campbell, Leigh Francis and Danny Dyer commenting.

Kenny has also announced his biggest ever UK tour – ‘The Unstoppable Tour: The Very Best of Kenny Thomas’, which will begin at the Glasshouse in Gateshead on 19 March, before travelling onto Manchester, the London Eventim Apollo for what will be Kenny’s biggest ever headline show, and Southend, before its finale at Birmingham Symphony Hall.

The tour dates coincide with the 35th anniversary of Kenny’s debut album ‘Voices’, which saw him make an instant impact on the charts with singles such as ‘Thinking About Your Love’, ‘Outstanding’, and ‘Best of You’.

Kenny will perform all of these hits, plus a selection of soon to be fan favourites from ‘Unstoppable’ on this UK tour, which sees him cap off this remarkable resurgence story.

This weekend, Kenny will also embark upon some very special in-store performances to celebrate the release of ‘Unstoppable’ with tickets available HERE.
