DJ, broadcaster and tastemaker Emerald has unveiled her second EP, ‘Check Yo Text/Dicksand’, via her imprint Precious Stones Records. The double release captures her signature blend of sleek, bass-driven electro and raw, late-night club intensity, presenting two distinct sonic approaches that showcase the depth of her production vision.
The project sees Emerald team up with fellow Rinse FM resident CASE on ‘Dicksand’, whilst ‘Check Yo Text’ stands as a solo Emerald production. The collaboration marks a significant moment for both artists, who first connected under their B2B alias VAULT earlier this autumn, debuting with a four-hour set at London’s The Glove That Fits venue. That memorable performance perfectly captured the raw, playful energy that flows through these new cuts.
‘Check Yo Text’ delivers Emerald’s sultry, groove-led edge built for smoke-filled dancefloors, showcasing her production prowess as a solo artist. The track demonstrates her understanding of club dynamics and her ability to craft hypnotic, bass-driven productions designed for extended DJ sets. In contrast, ‘Dicksand’ brings wobbly basslines, chopped sampling and a spacey, cheeky edge that reflects the collaborative chemistry between Emerald and CASE.
Emerald and CASE first met at Gottwood festival a few summers ago and soon found themselves drawn into the studio together. Despite their different production and DJ styles, they share a distinct pocket of electro and breaks that feels unmistakably theirs. Their combined influences—Radioactive Man, Client_03, Cyan85, Silicon Scally, Blumitsu and Frankenstein—inform the textural richness and playful approach evident throughout the new EP.
With ‘Dicksand/Check Yo Text’, Emerald continues to expand her sonic world, establishing herself as a magnetic, mischievous presence in electronic music. The dual release demonstrates her versatility whether working independently or in collaboration, cementing her status as both a skilled producer and curator of contemporary club culture. Both tracks are designed with the dancefloor in mind, offering DJs and dancers alike fresh material that bridges innovation with accessibility.
