Modern Era Festival has announced its full lineup for 2026, with technical metal legends Confessions Of A Traitor, German metalcore outfit Avralize, and London’s Shields alongside The Narrator confirmed as headliners. The three-day festival returns to New Cross Inn in London from 10th to 12th April, featuring 20 bands across the weekend championing modern metal.
Friday’s bill is topped by Confessions Of A Traitor making their return to the capital, supported by multi-vocalist technical metal crew Eschalon and After Smoke Clears, who will debut their new lineup. Aberdeen-based Vows and London nu-metal outfit Weller complete the opening night.
Saturday sees German band Avralize make their debut London headline appearance following the release of their album Liminal. The growing hype around the band promises a standout performance, with support from Profiler, Rituals, Archives, Cober Mouth, Glass Bridges, Dusthouse and Twin Skeletons across what organisers describe as a “packed day”.
The festival concludes on Sunday with co-headliners Shields and The Narrator, the latter fresh from their UK tour with Annisokay. The final day also features the return of Cabin Boy Jumped Ship, who wrap up their tour with RXPTRS at the festival, alongside the final ever show from Bristol-based band Immerse. Survivalist and Divinitas complete the Sunday lineup.

Curated and run by Jason Best from Modern Misery promotions, Modern Era Festival aims to build the modern metal scene and support grassroots venues. The second edition follows the festival’s successful debut year at the same London venue.
