Blossoms have announced intimate album launch shows in Stockport and Middlesbrough ahead of Songs From The Wedding Cake, which is released on 2 October. Tickets go on sale here at 10am on Thursday 24 September.
The Stockport band will play an early show and an evening show at Middlesbrough Empire on 13 October, before heading home to The Plaza on 15 October for another early and evening pairing.
The gigs follow their intimate tenth anniversary celebration of the debut album, which they performed in full at Manchester’s Deaf Institute.
Blossoms will then head out on a UK arena headline tour in November, billed as the biggest of the band’s career, with The Royston Club joining as special guests on every date. That step up comes after their 2024 UK headline tour, when a Wythenshawe Park homecoming was still being talked about as their largest headline gig to date.
Kingston Circuit on 8 October and Liverpool’s O2 Academy on 14 October are already sold out, with both nights also split into early and evening shows. The Plaza date also returns Blossoms to the Stockport theatre behind their In Isolation/Live From The Plaza Theatre, Stockport release.
Songs From The Wedding Cake is the band’s sixth studio album and follows 2024’s Gary. It is led by Joke About Divorce and Meet Me In Love, and includes Additional Driver featuring Declan McKenna.
The arena run opens at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on 26 November, then takes in London’s Alexandra Palace, Manchester’s Co-op Live, Leeds’ First Direct Bank Arena, Birmingham’s Utilita Arena and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, with a second Co-op Live show on 11 December.
