Electric Bay is returning to Torquay’s Torre Abbey Meadows on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 July 2027, marking the festival’s fifth anniversary after a year away. Louder and Beatz n Bobz will bring two days of music back to the English Riviera, with Pete Tong Presents Ibiza Classics with Tom Richards Essential Orchestra headlining Saturday. Sunday’s line-up is still to be announced.
Saturday will also feature house pioneer Marshall Jefferson, with more special guests still to come. Promoters say further artists will be added to the anniversary weekend, which is expected to bring major dance and drum and bass names to the seafront site overlooking the bay.
Tickets for the Pete Tong date go on pre-sale at 10am on Thursday 22 October, with general sale at 10am on Friday 23 October. Tickets are available at electricbayfestival.com/petetong. Festival updates and further ticket information will be posted at electricbayfestival.com.
The return follows a fallow year in 2026. Organisers said they could not secure the headliners needed to make that edition what they wanted, and chose to take a year out to plan the fifth anniversary instead. The festival first landed at Torre Abbey Meadows in July 2022, so 2027 is its fifth edition.
Previous weekends have featured Carl Cox, Chase & Status and Pendulum, alongside DJ EZ, Example, Hybrid Minds, Joel Corry, John Digweed, Kurupt FM, Sub Focus, Wilkinson and Hedex. The 2025 edition, billed as the festival’s biggest headline booking to date, brought Fatboy Slim to the meadows on Saturday 12 July, with Bloc Party, Andy C, Goldie, Hedex, Idris Elba, The Coral and Everything Everything also on the bill across the weekend.
Pete Tong MBE has spent more than three decades shaping dance music as a DJ, producer, A&R and the voice of BBC Radio 1’s dance programming. Ibiza Classics reworks some of the best known anthems in dance music, performed live by the Essential Orchestra and conducted by Tom Richards. The show began in 2015 at the late night BBC Proms, when a 65 piece orchestra played the Royal Albert Hall. It marked its tenth anniversary in 2025 with four sold out performances.
Cllr Jackie Thomas, Torbay Council’s Cabinet Member for Tourism, Culture and Events and Corporate Services, said the council was “delighted to welcome Electric Bay back to Torbay in July 2027.” She said events like this are part of a commitment to a year round programme that “showcases Torbay as a leading destination for culture, music, and entertainment.”
She added that Electric Bay “attracts thousands of people to Torbay, many of whom stay overnight, helping to fill our hotels, restaurants, bars and hospitality venues throughout the weekend.” The most recent economic impact survey showed the 2025 festival generated more than £1 million for the local economy, with crowds of 10,000 on the Saturday alone.
A spokesman for Beatz & Bobz said: “After a year away, we’re really looking forward to bringing Electric Bay back to Torquay for its fifth anniversary. Torre Abbey Meadows is a special place to put on a show, and Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics feels like a brilliant way to celebrate our return. We’d like to thank Torbay Council and its Events Team for their help and support in making it happen. We’ve had some fantastic weekends here with the Electric Bay crowd, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back in July.”
Electric Bay is supported locally by Torbay Council and the English Riviera Business Improvement District (ERBID), which works with more than 1,000 local businesses. Louder, the team behind Brighton’s On The Beach, co-promote the festival with Beatz n Bobz, the South West dance promoters. The English Riviera covers 22 miles of coastline across Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, and is a UNESCO Global Geopark.
