Brighton’s On The Beach will return in July 2027 for its seventh edition on the city’s seafront. The festival, presented by Louder and JOY. Concerts, opens on Friday 9 July with Pete Tong presents Ibiza Classics with Tom Richards Essential Orchestra. Sonny Fodera has also been confirmed for Saturday 24 July. Tickets for both shows go on general sale at 10am on Friday 23 October via onthebeachbrighton.com.

The opening night is billed as the season opening party. Todd Terry is also confirmed for Friday 9 July, with more special guests still to be announced. Sonny Fodera’s Saturday show will have special guests announced later. Organisers say the two bookings are a first taste of the wider 2027 line-up.

Pete Tong MBE has spent more than three decades as a DJ, producer and BBC Radio 1 broadcaster. His Ibiza Classics show reworks dance anthems with the Essential Orchestra, conducted by Tom Richards. Richards’ credits include arranging and conducting RAYE’s My 21st Century Symphony at the Royal Albert Hall. Tong has previously taken the show to UK arenas, including Ibiza Classics dates in 2025.

Sonny Fodera brings his house sound to the beach on Saturday 24 July, after all four dates on his March 2027 UK arena tour sold out, including Manchester’s Co-op Live and London’s The O2. He is known for hits including Asking, and his latest album, can we do it all again?, reached the UK Top 20. Headline shows abroad and a Pacha Ibiza residency have made him a major draw on the dance circuit.

On sale times are not the same for both shows. Pete Tong pre-sale is at 10am on Thursday 22 October, with tickets at onthebeachbrighton.com/petetong. Sonny Fodera pre-sale is a day earlier, at 10am on Wednesday 21 October, via onthebeachbrighton.com/sonnyfodera. General sale for both is 10am on Friday 23 October.

The 2026 edition won Best Location at the Skiddle Awards. Its seafront stage hosted 40 artists across eight shows and two weekends, with headliners Fatboy Slim, Madness, The Maccabees and Moby, plus a bill that ran from electronic to indie and alternative. Launched in 2021, the festival has previously hosted sold out shows from Fatboy Slim, Chase & Status, Above & Beyond, Bicep, Eric Prydz, Underworld and Carl Cox, alongside Royal Blood, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Libertines, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and The Kooks.

On The Beach has also announced a Great Yarmouth debut in June 2027, its first move beyond Brighton. That four-day event runs on the town’s sandy beach from 17 to 20 June, with Olly Murs confirmed as the first headliner on 18 June. The festival recently partnered with Music Support for the Great Yarmouth edition, and is extending that partnership to the Brighton series. Music Support is the charity for people working in the UK music industry who are affected by mental health, substance use or addiction.

An Economic and Social Impact Report found the festival generated over £8.3 million for Brighton in 2025. It drew more than 59,000 people, with around two-thirds travelling from outside the city, supported over 300 jobs, and delivered more than £3 million in visitor spending across local businesses, accommodation and hospitality. The £8.3 million figure was reported when the study was published earlier this year.

Cllr David McGregor, Cabinet Member for Economy, Culture, Heritage and Tourism at Brighton and Hove City Council, said the council was delighted the festival would return in 2027. “Events are critical to making Brighton & Hove such a distinctive place to live, work and visit, and bring significant benefits to our communities and economy,” he said. He added that last year the event generated around £8 million for the city, and that residents had sent him a lot of positive messages about it.

An On The Beach spokesperson said: “We can’t wait to return to Brighton beach in 2027, with Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics and Sonny Fodera giving a first taste of what’s to come. We’re proud of the contribution On The Beach makes to the local economy and grateful to our audiences, our team, local partners and everyone across the city who has helped make it a success. We’re also delighted to partner with Music Support, supporting the people who make live music possible. We can’t wait to share the rest of the line-up.”

Louder is the electronic promoter behind the festival, booking clubs, arenas and festivals across the UK. JOY. Concerts is a Brighton independent promoter whose portfolio also includes Brighton Psych Fest and the only UK show by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in 2026. The company works with independent venues, local partners and community organisations, including NHS My Music, and is involved in sustainability work and the Living Wage campaign.

Press quotes from the 2026 edition included a 5/5 from The Times, which called it a case of a “rave messiah” supplying “pure joy on the beach”. CLASH described “a joyful headline set against the backdrop of a romantic late-July evening”. The Upcoming said the festival is “never claustrophobic and a literal breath of fresh air”. Music News said it proved “the enduring pull of dance music and Britain’s place in it”.
