British alternative band Daytime TV have announced their forthcoming studio album, Rodeo, and released new single ‘Meditate’.
Out now, ‘Meditate’ leans poppier than the rougher edges of recent releases ‘Pause’, ‘Sun’ and ‘Creatures’. The band pitch it as Human League meets The Killers.
Rodeo was written after a profound shift in perspective for frontman Will Irvine, who spent much of 2024 overcoming a severe, life-threatening autoimmune illness. The record captures a band shedding creative inhibitions and embracing an unfiltered, high-energy identity. It was produced by Pete Hutchings (Royal Blood, Foals, Gang of Youths) at The Marshall Studio in Milton Keynes, and will be released on Marshall Records on 19 February 2027.
“When you come close to losing everything, all your inhibitions disappear,” said Will. “You stop caring about trying to fit into a specific genre or pleasing anyone else. Rodeo is about stepping boldly into who we really are as a band and as people. It’s an album built on energy, survival, and pure conviction.”
Fans can pre-order Rodeo and pre-save ‘Meditate’ now. More on the band is at daytimetv.os.fan.
The single reflects Will’s renewed clarity, inspired by mindfulness practices he used to navigate physical isolation during his recovery.
He said: “Written during a heatwave, ‘Meditate’ is a nostalgic look back at what could have been. A chance missed, the ‘what if’ of THAT relationship. Maybe we could’ve done better. Everything was there for us but we let it pass us by and now our lives have gone in different directions. Dreaming about how life would’ve been different if things had worked out, then snapping back to the present day reality to ‘meditate & medicate’ which is what I was prescribed to reset my nervous system at the time we wrote the song.”
Daytime TV are Will Irvine (vocals), John Caddick (guitar), Naomi Boschetti (bass) and Gareth Thompson (drums). They are playing intimate venues this month on a tour in partnership with the Music Venue Trust, taking in Hull, Coventry, Newport, Milton Keynes, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Sheffield and Edinburgh. Tickets are available here.
Remaining dates are:
- 28 October: Liverpool, The Quarry
- 29 October: Sheffield, Yellow Arch
- 30 October: Edinburgh, Cabaret Voltaire
The tour opened on 14 October at Hull’s New Adelphi Club, then took in Tin Music and Arts in Coventry (15 October), Le Pub in Newport (16 October), Crauford Arms in Milton Keynes (17 October) and Bear Cave in Bournemouth (18 October).
Formed in 2020, Daytime TV have built a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging acts, sharing stages with You Me At Six, Twin Atlantic and Two Door Cinema Club, and playing BST Hyde Park and Mad Cool Festival. In 2026 they signed to Marshall Records, the label owned by the amp company and home to The Molotovs and Nova Twins.
Press notes point to BBC Radio 1 Introducing (“Infectious soaring energy”), Rock Sound (“Big, Polished and cinematic”) and Kerrang! (“Arena-ready ambition”). The band say the fanbase built on those support tours means Rodeo is a leap forward in scale and sound.
