Paul Heaton will headline Live at Lincoln Castle on Wednesday 9 June 2027, joined by special guest singer Rianne Downey. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 6 November via lincolncastle.com and ticketmaster.co.uk.
The show is the latest addition to Live at Lincoln Castle 2027, a series of headline concerts staged through an ongoing partnership between Lincolnshire County Council and Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor. Organisers say the night will mix Heaton’s catalogue of hits with new music from his recent album, Jenius.
Heaton has spent more than four decades writing some of British music’s most enduring songs, first with The Housemartins, then The Beautiful South, and later as a solo artist. He has six Number 1 albums and more than 15 million album sales to his name. The set is expected to draw on favourites including Happy Hour, Caravan of Love, Song for Whoever, A Little Time, Rotterdam (Or Anywhere), Perfect 10 and Don’t Marry Her.
Jenius, released this summer, is his first-ever solo Number 1. It arrived almost exactly 40 years after The Housemartins’ debut, London 0 Hull 4. Produced by Lightning Seeds frontman Ian Broudie, the album has 15 songs spanning rock ‘n’ roll, country, soul, ska, blues, yacht rock and Latin, with observations on love, loneliness, community and the state of the nation.
Rianne Downey has been a regular part of Heaton’s live band since joining him on tour in 2023, and she also appears on Jenius and his previous album, The Mighty Several. The pair have already shared major festival bills, including a Friday headline slot at Bearded Theory in 2025 and a sunset set that opened Kendal Calling in 2024. Downey also joined him for a Forest Live show at Westonbirt in June 2025.
Cuffe and Taylor promoter Mark Harrison said Heaton is “one of Britain’s greatest songwriters and live performers, with a catalogue packed full of songs that mean so much to so many people.” He added that songs from The Housemartins, The Beautiful South and Heaton’s solo career “bring people together and are made to be sung at the top of your lungs.”
Lincoln Castle manager Kimberley Vickers said watching Heaton “perform some of the most loved songs of the past four decades as the sun goes down over the castle walls will be an unforgettable experience.” She urged fans to “set your alarms, snap up your tickets, and join the Caravan of Love at Lincoln Castle next summer.”
Heaton joins an already busy 2027 bill at the castle. Confirmed nights include Kaiser Chiefs on Saturday 12 June, Jack Savoretti and James Morrison on Sunday 13 June, Ronan Keating with Blue on Thursday 17 June, and Bananarama on Saturday 19 June. Rudimental play Friday 25 June, Holly Johnson Saturday 26 June, and Alfie Boe Sunday 27 June. All shows are BSL interpreted.
