“Soft Launch are the band you should be very excited about”- Dork Mag. Forming together after years of different individual projects, the Irish quintet quickly became a natural force, packing out their live shows without any publicly released music, including selling out London’s The Grace within an hour. Key publications such as Dork and DIY Mag have coined them as one of the most exciting bands on the scene right now; and these aren’t the only people shouting about Soft Launch. Pop icons CMAT and Declan McKenna have urged people to go and listen to the fivesome with Declan McKenna later bringing the group on tour with him in early 2024. There is an undeniable buzz about Soft Launch that can’t be ignored.
Like an inner monologue with pop-punk melodies and angsty energy, 23-year-old Nxdia talks about the things that make you feel understood and turns them into alt-pop bangers that are as addictive as they are self-affirming. The rising alt-pop newcomer kicked off 2024 in style with their popular single ‘She Likes a Boy’ on Jan 12. Written with English and Arabic lyrics, the track is both a fearless alt-pop bop and an ode to queer awakenings. With its glitchy beats, grungy guitar and catchy lyrics, ‘She Likes a Boy’ quickly became a new queer anthem within the LGBTQ+ community for its universal feeling of being misunderstood, with almost 16 million streams and tastemaker support from BBC Radio 1 (Clara Amfo, Jack Saunders), NME, DIY, The Forty-Five and more. With their harmonious blend of Arabic and English lyrics, Nxdia exemplifies a striking fusion that perfectly combines their heritage with pop-punk sensibilities and an innate swagger.
Born in Liverpool with a longing for mischief, Luvcat ran away with a Parisian circus on the eve of her sixteenth birthday. There she became a magician’s assistant for many years. After a secret, ill-fated affair with the ringmaster, Luvcat performed a final disappearing act and fled on a train through the ocean to the heart of London. She slinked back into society, and, inspired by the dark, playful romance of Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave & The Cure, Luvcat began penning songs of her travels and all the lovers and libertines she met along the way.
