 BBC Summer Social reveals huge sports programme

Having recently announced an impressive dance act line-up to join an already incredible list of artists and YouTube stars, BBC Summer Social has today revealed a huge sports programme including Mr Motivator, and Tekkerz Kid alongside the city’s biggest sports teams Everton FC and Champions League winners, Liverpool FC. Combined with some of the biggest sports associations in the UK, BBC Summer Social is guaranteed to get you active!

Fitness legend Mr Motivator is a fantastic addition for both Saturday and Sunday. Best known for his dynamic ten years on GMTV and best selling fitness books and videos, The King of Spandex will be hosting 20-minute workouts on the main stage. Don’t forget to stretch!

On Saturday YouTube star and footballing skillster Lorenzo Greer – best known as Tekkerz Kid – will host a Q&A and show us his skills the on the main stage. With a huge 1.3m YouTube subscribers, he’ll show off his best tricks and tell us stories of some of the world class players he’s met including World Cup wonder boy Kylian Mbappe and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard! Also announced are the cast from the award-winning CBBC drama Jamie Johnson who will be on site taking questions. 

BBC Summer Social Go Ride cycling

In the BBC Sport Zone, representatives from Everton in the Community and the Liverpool FC Foundation will be on site to jointly host rolling 30-minute skill sessions and matches for all budding footballers whilst MOTD Kickabout will give visitors the chance to take part in the hat-trick and bucket list challenges. If football isn’t your thing, the festival has also announced specialised skill sessions run by ECB (cricket), RFU (rugby), and the LTA (tennis).  And with the growing appeal of netball generated by this summer’s World Cup in Liverpool, England Netball will also be hoping to inspire the next generation of Roses with skills sessions and mini matches.

Whilst Liverpool’s very own Greenbank Sports Academy, will be offering a whole host of disability sport, including boccia, sitting volleyball and activity bingo.

Finally if you want to get on your bike, British Cycling will be setting up a forest adventure trail – don’t worry parents, they are even bringing bikes for you too!

Other exciting activities include the Blue Peter Assault Course providing hours of fun on one of the world’s biggest inflatable obstacle courses. Also at the festival is the world’s largest bouncy castle and the Deadly Dinosaur Park – take to the high wire to escape the deadly dinos lurking below. Tackle if you’re brave enough!

Tickets are on sale, priced at £23.50pp plus £1.50 booking fee (free for under 2’s) and includes all activities, inflatables, funfair rides and performances at the festival.
