Interpol and Bloc Party have announced a co-headline tour that will bring two of alternative music’s most influential acts together for 18 dates across the UK and Europe in 2026. The pairing unites two era-defining bands for the first time on UK soil since 2004, with the tour beginning in Copenhagen on 10 November at the Royal Arena before reaching the UK on 20 November. The run will culminate in two massive closing shows at London’s Olympia on 4 and 5 December, giving fans across both territories the chance to experience these seminal bands live once again.
The tour represents a significant reunion for the two bands, who last performed together on UK dates in 2004 and more recently co-headlined a series of Australian shows in 2023. Both Interpol and Bloc Party have been instrumental in shaping alternative rock and post-punk revival music over the last two decades, with their influence extending far beyond their dedicated fanbases. The announcement comes at a particularly exciting time for Interpol, who have confirmed they will return to Coachella in 2026 across both weekends and will release new music in 2026, while Bloc Party continue to cement their legacy with ongoing celebrations of their influential catalogue.
The tour will see both bands performing songs spanning their entire discographies, including Bloc Party’s seminal 2005 debut album Silent Alarm and Interpol’s landmark 2004 sophomore effort Antics. Fans attending these shows will hear some of the most defining and career-spanning tracks from both acts, with the co-headline format allowing each band considerable time to showcase their artistic evolution across multiple studio albums. The venue selection reflects the scale of both bands’ popularity, with arena and major concert hall bookings across Europe’s biggest cities.
The UK leg of the tour kicks off at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on 20 November, before moving to Cardiff, Manchester (two nights at Aviva Studios on 23 and 24 November), Brighton (two nights at Brighton Centre on 26 and 27 November), Sheffield, Dublin, and Glasgow. The London dates at Olympia on 4 and 5 December represent the tour’s grand finale, offering UK fans multiple opportunities to catch this rare co-headline pairing. The tour spans major European cities including Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Hamburg and Düsseldorf, cementing its status as a significant event across the continent.
Tickets for the tour go on general sale at 9am GMT on Friday 7 November, with early pre-sale access available from 9am GMT on Wednesday 5 November for fans who sign up to the bands’ mailing lists. This pre-sale window provides dedicated supporters with first access to secure their places before general availability begins. The pricing structure and full ticketing details will be available through the official tour announcement channels.
Interpol, formed in New York City, have established themselves as one of the most essential guitar bands of the 21st century. Their breakthrough debut album Turn on the Bright Lights became a critical and commercial success, earning Pitchfork’s first-ever album of the year award and selling millions of copies worldwide. The band, led by frontman Paul Banks, have released seven critically acclaimed studio albums and achieved global commercial success with over 2.5 million albums sold. Their distinctive blend of post-punk and dark wave influences has influenced countless artists, and they have headlined some of the world’s most prestigious venues including the Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden and Mexico City’s Zócalo.
Bloc Party have charted an equally impressive artistic trajectory since their emergence in the early 2000s. Led by impassioned frontman Kele Okereke, the band’s initial EPs played a pivotal role in shaping British indie rock, with their groundbreaking 2005 debut Silent Alarm establishing them as trailblazers through their experimental approach to electronic textures. The band have released six studio albums to date—A Weekend in the City (2007), Intimacy (2008), Four (2011), Hymns (2016) and Alpha Games (2022)—and have demonstrated consistent artistic restlessness and innovation. Recent achievements include a new single ‘Flirting Again’ in 2023, the phased release of their rare songs and deep cuts to streaming services, and a landmark headline performance at Crystal Palace Park in summer 2024 in celebration of Silent Alarm’s 20th anniversary, which drew over 25,000 people.
The bands have continued to be recognised for their contributions to music, with Bloc Party receiving the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection in May 2025 and making history at Reading and Leeds Festivals by becoming the first-ever act to headline the festivals’ new ‘icons’ slot. Beyond this tour, Interpol have further touring plans confirmed for 2026, including a run of South American dates with shows in Peru and Bogota, an appearance at Coachella across both weekends, and performances as main support to Deftones at Lollapalooza in Argentina, Chile and Brazil. The band’s return with new studio material in 2026 adds further anticipation to their continued presence at major festivals and touring circuits.
