Festival No. 6 comes with an international street food line-up

Festival No. 6 has one of the most diverse food line-ups of any festival around. Nestled in the Welsh tourist village of Portmeirion, the festival boasts multiple fine dining options in actual, real restaurants.

Hotel Portmeirion and Castell Deudraeth both offer a full menu, in addition to the pre-bookable, nightly ‘Dinner at Cloughs‘ events with celebrity chefs.

At the other end of the market, Festival No. 6 also boasts a wide array of quality street food on offer from around the world. All vendors in the festival’s Global Street Food Village are housed in individual wooden chalets, aiming to create a true village feel.

There’s also a Welsh produce market on the festival’s Village Green, with locally sourced organic produce both cooked or to take home.

Here are some of our picks from the incredible Festival No. 6 food line-up. The full list of vendors is also attached below.

Anna Mae’s Mac ‘N’ Cheese

Winners at the 2016 London Food Awards, Anna Mae’s is bringing their famous mac ‘n’ cheese to Portmeirion for the weekend. It’ll be in the Castell Park area.

Described as “intensely moreish” by the Sunday Times, “amazing” by Time Out, and the “best mac n cheese this side of the Atlantic” in Elle Magazine.

The Cheese Truck

The Cheese Truck 2000trees

The iconic yellow cheese truck will be heading back to Portmeirion, having sold over 20 tonnes of cheese in their first two summers on the road. The truck has recently featured at both Glastonbury and 2000trees. They claim to be dedicated to celebrating the best of British cheese.

With a selection of varied grilled cheese sandwiches and festival favourite Fondue Fries, the truck was described as “the festival circuit’s signature cheese supplier” by Esquire Magazine, and as potentially “the best street food truck ever” by the Metro.

Last year, The Cheese Truck was down by the water, but this year it’ll be up near the campsites on the Village Green.

Le Swine

Le Swine Bacon Butty

Bacon connoisseurs Le Swine create entirely handcrafted bacon baps, in which every ingredient is homemade.

With a unique selection including a toasted milk & onion bap, bacon butter, swines tomato sauce, and mushroom ketchup, Le Swine will be the first place you need to visit after a heavy night.

Sold from a beautiful converted Austin Morris ambulance, straight out of the 1960s.

Le Swine will be in Festival No. 6’s Village Green area, nice and close to the campsites.

They’ll be situated in the main Castell Park arena.

You’ll find Polental in the Village Green serving up deep-fried cheese and rosemary polenta balls.

Served with a rich tomato, red lentil and herb ragu. Topped with an organic baked egg plus fresh parsley and basil. There’s also an optional homemade chilli sauce.
