The North East’s largest inner-city one-day festival Hit the North will be postponed until October due to COVID-19 concerns.
Organisers SSD Concerts have today confirmed that the festival, set to take place in Newcastle Upon Tyne on Sunday 3 May, has now been rescheduled to Sunday 18th October, adding the very exciting Pale Waves and indie icon Tim Burgess to the bill.
The inner-city showcase, which sees established bands and rising stars perform in iconic venues throughout the city – boasting a line-up this year which included Australian indie outfit DMA’s, The Amazons, and Fickle Friends – has worked hard to keep the majority of the line-up in place and is hopeful that the event will come back stronger in a few months from now.
Organiser Steve Davis says: “In these difficult times for all of us, let alone the hospitality and events industry, I’m proud of our staff for managing to reschedule the vast majority of the line-up. I am really excited for this year’s Hit the North Festival and once again, I thank you all for your support.
“It’s amazing to see all of the agents and artists support the event and hopefully we can all be together to celebrate defeating this terrible virus in October.”
As with previous instalments – which have played host to the likes of Metronomy, Jungle, Sam Fender, Shame, Peace, The Horrors, Jake Bugg, Ratboy and Circa Waves – this year’s Hit The North lineup is brimming with talent tipped for major success over the next twelve months and beyond.
