Maui Waui festival in Norfolk will be opening its gates to partygoers next Thursday, offering people a chance to experience one of the best small festivals in the UK.
The festival, which we reviewed in 2019, features a wide variety of music and entertainment including pounding ska from legends Bad Manners, electro swing from pioneer Max Pashm, and soaring psychedelic rock from the Mighty Flux.
Clowns, acrobats and performers will be roaming the site for the entire weekend, while larger-scale performances will be put on throughout, culminating in a very special service by Oh My God, it’s The Church. This group have been described as like a “dance-off between Tenacious D and flight of the Concords” and are an “unashamedly blasphemous” take on what a modern church service could be.

Maui Waui is also family-friendly, and offers a fantastic environment for little ones to explore, offering dozens of activities for them to enjoy including the perennially fun paint fight, and full circus performance in a dedicated big top.
The festival is always well organised, with plenty of water points, shade, toilets and food vendors and is set in a pretty wooded site in south Norfolk, which offers soft grass and flat terrain for easy navigation, even barefoot.
Maul Waui 2022 takes place from Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th August at Hill Farm, Norfolk. Tickets are on sale at mauiwauievents.co.uk
