Readipop Festival 2019 has just announced its full-line up, with even more big names, as well as a delectable smorgasbord of the very best local talent.
From Friday 12th July to Sunday 14th July, Caversham’s Christchurch Meadows will get down to Grammy nominees, over sixty UK Top 40 hits, Radio 1 & BBC 6Music staples, and a huge selection of Reading’s home-grown talent.
The festival also releases it’s day tickets today (18th March), available for £18 each (Friday or Sunday) and £23 each for Saturday. Weekend tickets remain at just £35 each until 7th May, an extremely low price for a line-up which includes Sleeper, The Orb, Brand New Heavies, Norman Jay MBE, Musical Youth, Ibibio Sound Machine, The Primitives, Audio Bullys, Jurassic 5’s Soup presents Fullee Love Collective, Cassetteboy vs DJ Rubbish, Mark Chadwick (Levellers), Mark Morriss (The Bluetones), Fuzzbox and many more (full line-up in day splits below).
Exclusively for Readipop Festival 2019, Zoot Woman will be playing their first UK show for nine years! Zoot Woman were formed in Reading in 1996 by Johnny Blake, Adam Blake and Stuart Price (triple Grammy winner/Les Rhythmes Digitales/Jacques Le Cont). Known for their live shows, the group has gained a worldwide following and released six albums including the classic ‘Living in a Magazine’ (2001) on Wall Of Sound label and “Absence” (2017) which features a guest appearance from Kylie Minogue. Johnny Blake’s vocals also feature on Justice’s 2018 Grammy winning “Woman Worldwide” album. Zoot Woman’s seventh album “Maxidrama” is due out later this year.
Also newly announced to be joining the line-up are Warrington four-piece Man & The Echo. The band’s new single “Capable Man” is currently on the BBC 6Music playlist and they release their second album (produced by Raf Rundell of 2 Bears) around the time of the festival.
Other acts add to the full line-up include Deyah (formerly NonameDisciple) who played last year’s Reading Festival for BBC Introducing in Berkshire (along with previously announced Saltwater Sun), synth funk outfit Alive By Night playing their debut Reading gig and IDRchitecture performing their first Reading show since ****
But its not just music, Readipop Festival features a Kids and Family area, the Etsy Team Market, Boat trips, food stalls and bars, a Circus, workshops and much more. And just to sweeten the deal for families… under 14s go free! (when obtaining a free ticket through Eventbrite).
Reading’s home-grown music festival also helps to support the Readipop Music Charity, with all profits going to support the charity’s work with disadvantaged and underrepresented musicians within the town.
