Terminal V has unveiled plans for a landmark £1 million investment into site development and production upgrades for its 2026 edition. Organisers have described the move as a “transformative step” designed to elevate the customer experience across the board when the festival returns to the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on 18th and 19th April 2026.
Following attendee feedback from previous years, the substantial financial injection will be used to overhaul stages, facilities, and audience areas. Among the most significant operational changes is a major security upgrade to the perimeter. The 2026 site will be fully enclosed with reinforced fencing and newly installed overhanging ‘SteelShield’ barriers, a move designed to completely eradicate fence-jumping and ensure a safer environment for all ticket holders.

Audio and visual production is set for a radical overhaul, with every stage being redesigned for the upcoming edition. This includes the introduction of new PA systems and advanced speaker setups, following a new collaboration with a “leading global sound partner” to deliver precise audio. Long-time fans of the festival will also welcome the return of the Area V stage in its original format, alongside five additional, newly developed stages intended to increase scale and immersion.
Addressing essential amenities, organisers have committed to doubling the number of toilets on site, supported by upgraded cleaning teams operating continuously throughout the weekend. The food offering is being significantly widened to include budget-friendly options and more vegan vendors. Other facility improvements include the return of festival lockers, the creation of brand-new chillout zones, and expanded indoor and outdoor seating areas.

Navigation and safety on site are also being prioritised. The festival will install twice as many digital display towers for live schedule updates, alongside large-format venue maps and improved directional signage on major routes. A full lighting review has resulted in plans for enhanced walkway illumination to ensure safer movement between arenas day and night.
For those opting for a premium experience, the VIP environment is being redesigned with a capped capacity to prevent overcrowding. The upgraded VIP area will feature enhanced viewing platforms, faster service points, and exclusive facilities.
This operational announcement comes simultaneously with the release of the festival’s Phase Two lineup. The 2026 billing now includes over 20 newly announced acts, including I Hate Models, 999999999, and exclusive back-to-back sets such as Ben Techy x Luciid. Tickets for Terminal V 2026 go back on sale at 9am on Thursday 4th December. 40,000 visitors are expected to attend what promises to be the most ambitious production in the festival’s history.
