The Prodigy have been confirmed as the latest major addition to the Rock Werchter 2026 lineup. The iconic British electronic group is set to perform on the festival’s opening day, Thursday 2 July 2026. This performance marks a significant return for the band, coming eleven years after their last appearance at the Belgian festival.

Known for defying genre boundaries with their explosive mix of dance, rock, and punk, The Prodigy will join an already impressive roster of headliners. They are scheduled to play on the same day as Mumford & Sons, setting the tone for the four-day event. Other major acts previously confirmed for the festival include The Cure, Gorillaz, Twenty One Pilots, The xx, and Moby.

Tickets for Rock Werchter 2026 will go on general sale this Friday, 21 November at 10am. For fans hoping to secure their spot early, pre-registration is currently open via rockwerchter.be, granting early access to festival tickets. This pre-registration window closes tomorrow, 20 November, at 12pm. The festival itself takes place from Thursday 2 July to Sunday 5 July at the Festivalpark in Werchter.

Rock Werchter 2026 Lineup So Far

  • Thursday 2 July: The Prodigy, Mumford & Sons
  • Friday 3 July: The xx
  • Saturday 4 July: Gorillaz, Twenty One Pilots
  • Sunday 5 July: The Cure, Moby

The band’s return is highly anticipated, with remaining members Liam Howlett and Maxim promising to deliver their signature high-energy performance. Regarding the upcoming summer shows, the band stated: “It’ll be The Prodigy just like it was back then, and how it still moves forward. The familiar, full-on experience of nonstop noise and beats.”

The Prodigy holds a special place in the festival’s history, having been instrumental in bridging the gap between dance music and rock audiences. In 1996, they became the first dance act to close Rock Werchter, a slot they have filled three times since. While the absence of the late Keith Flint is deeply felt, the band continues to honour his legacy. A new album is currently in the works, serving as a successor to 2018’s No Tourists and described as an ode to Flint.

More names for the 2026 edition are expected to be announced soon. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned to the official festival website for further updates.
