Stormzy Glastonbury rumours after Instagram story hint24th August 2018
With Glastonbury 2019 only ten months away, the rumour mill is moving into full swing. Each time a big artist mentions anything Glasto-related on social media, the mill goes into overdrive.
Today, Stormzy Glastonbury rumours are abound after the grime artist posted a suggestive quote on his Instagram story.
At the time, Noel told NME magazine: “Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go ‘Kylie Minogue?’ I don’t know about it. But I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.”
Glastonbury Festival Director Emily Eavis has previously suggested Stormzy would be a suitable headliner for a future Glastonbury.
After his packed-out performance on The Other Stage in 2017, she told press: “I think Stormzy will definitely have to headline one day. He was phenomenal, and if anything has come through in quite an obvious way, it’s that. That was such a great moment.”
Betway currently have Stormzy’s odds of headlining Glasto next year at 9/1. Kendrick Lamar is currently their favourite, with The Arctic Monkeys and ABBA also ranking higher than Stormzy in Betway’s estimations. Led Zeppelin, Taylor Swift, and Eminem, are all deemed less likely.
The Gallagher brothers are also involved in their own fair share of Glastonbury 2019 rumours. Bookies slashed odds on Oasis headlining after Liam tweeted a plea to Noel to reunite the band back in June.
However, any potential Oasis reunion is long from being confirmed, and Glasto organisers are unlikely to be waiting on the brothers to sort out their spat before confirming their headliners.
If Oasis were to reform and play a massive reunion show in the near future, it would likely be their own event. The official Manchester City Twitter account replied directly to Liam’s tweet at the time,
The ban is expected to only apply to traders selling plastic bottles on site, rather than fans bringing their own drinks. This still marks a significant shift for the festival, and will be a challenge for the festival economy to achieve.
