Billie Eilish is strongly rumoured to headline The Pyramid Stage on the Friday of Glastonbury 2022, with Queens of the Stone Age said to be headlining The Other Stage at the same time.
They’ve now both been listed as ‘to be confirmed‘ on the widely respected eFestivals rumours list. Fans were quick to point out Billie’s recently announced London tour dates, on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June, line up nicely with a potential Glasto slot on Friday 24th June.
eFestivals later said this is based on: “strong info from a top source, also with backing from a second source.”
One Twitter user who recently stayed at Glastonbury’s Worthy Pastures campsite said founder Michael Eavis asked their group what they thought of Billie Eilish.
Reviewing Billie’s set on The Other Stage in 2019, NME said: “This almost certainly won’t be her last time at the festival. From what we’ve just witnessed, there’s every chance that she lands the top spot on the Pyramid eventually.”
Queens of the Stone Age last appeared at Worthy Farm in 2011 when they headlined The Other Stage on Sunday night. They’ve also played way back in 2002.
We’re still awaiting any official line-up announcements from Glastonbury themselves, and while they don’t usually start until later in the year, anything could happen after two years of forced cancellations.
Other rumoured artists include Elton John, Wolf Alice and McFly, although none as strongly as Billie Eilish and Queens of the Stone Age.
Glastonbury Festival 2022 will take place from Wednesday 22nd – Sunday 26th June, with most campers heading home on the following Monday morning.
