As festival seasons crawls closer (it’s been so long!), it’s hard not to get excited about the most prolific Welsh celebration of music. Gottwood comes relatively early in the festival season, getting underway on Thursday 9th June and running through to Sunday night. And as it opens its gates, it promises those attending will experience a blissful blend of top-notch music and world-class scenery.

Here are some of the top things to forward to at Gottwood this year:
2 Bad Mice
Legends on the rave scene, and the roots of what we now know and love as drum and bass. 2 Bad Mice were formed in 1991, remain an outstanding act way ahead of their time.
2 Bad Mice represent the essence of drum and bass, creativity and pushing boundaries to make something fresh and different – which is why we cant wait to catch them at a festival that represents a similar style.
Helena Hauff
Helena Hauff never fails to incorporate her flawless mixing skills and impeccable music selection into her sets. Effortlessly blending her music into an old skool harmony of dark electro-funk that quite literally raises the roof everywhere she plays. This DJ can not be stopped!
Setting
For starters, the festival takes place on the Isle of Anglesey, one of the most picturesque locations in the UK. Really, this place is seriously beautiful. It’s a stone’s throw away from the coast, with the campsite practically overlooking the beach.
From the campsite, the main attractions are set under a canopy of a whimsical forest. Inventive and intimate stages are spotted around a glimmering lake. An escape from the world to a weird and wonderful community, stellar music, all whilst being engulfed by fairytale-like nature. What more could you want.
Nia Archives
Junglist Nia Archives is on another level. One of the reasons we’re most excited for Nia Archives is her impeccable ability to combine old skool vibes with new flavours
Nia uses vocals in her sets which are heavenly, and the groove flows throughout everything she does. We love her energy!
Vibes
Another thing we love about this festival is the atmosphere. There’s always friendliness within the community of 5,000 attendees which helps create such a comfortable vibe. The festival is independent, staying true to its core values and doesn’t bow under pressure to become more conventional or to overcrowd its site. Indeed, it’s stayed at a very comfortable size for many years now, ensuring that the experience remans immersive year on year.
