Gottwood Festival gets underway this Thursday, kicking off four days of the best underground music on offer this summer.
On top of its perennially awesome music line-ups and its renowned community vibe, Gottwood is also known for its stunning location on the Anglesey coastline. The festival’s inventive and intimate stages are set in and around the forest and lake of the Carreglwyd Estate, offering a isolated haven from day-to-day life.
In collaboration with DronePics.Wales, we’re bringing you an exclusive gallery of gorgeous Gottwood aerial photos you simply won’t find anywhere else. Taken in early May 2022, they show the beautiful Carreglwyd Estate site ahead of the bulk of the festival build getting underway.

Our first view of the site shows the main lake and the Georgian hall building nestled in woodlands, while the open fields behind them usually become Gottwood’s campsites. This photo shows the festival’s proximity to the coast. with many parts of the site boasting incredible views out to sea.

This next photo shows another angle of the campsite fields behind the forest. You can also just spot The Skerries islands out to sea on the top left. They’re slightly obscured by sea mist in these photos but are often spotted by attendees as they travel to and walk around the festival site.

This next photo shows another of the views available from parts of the campsites, this one looking out over Holyhead Bay, showing the town of Holyhead along with Holyhead Mountain. It’s too far to walk there from Gottwood, but a short drive into town provides easy access to shops including a Tesco Extra and a Morrisons.
