The Trussell Trust and Glastonbury Festival have announced a partnership to support people facing hardship across the UK. Tickets to this year’s festival sold out in an hour, but Glastonbury Festival has donated ten once-in-a-lifetime experiences, each including a pair of tickets to the 2023 festival, to help raise vital funds in support of the anti-poverty charity.
The cost of living crisis is impacting all of us, but for people on the lowest incomes, it’s simply impossible. More and more people are finding that their incomes cannot stretch to cover the most essential of items and are having to choose between heating their home or putting food on the table.
The Trussell Trust, which supports a nationwide network of more than 1,300 food bank centres, reports that between April and September 2022, food banks in its network provided an emergency food parcel to someone facing hardship every 13 seconds and 320,000 people were forced to turn to a food bank in its network for the first time. That’s equivalent to almost every person living in Nottingham having to access a food bank at the same time.
Glastonbury Festival has a long-standing history of supporting charities and community groups such as Oxfam, Greenpeace and WaterAid, having raised millions for these causes since the 1970s.

This latest charity initiative will run from 6th February, (live from 12pm) until 13th February 2023 (close at 5pm) and bidders will have the chance to grab, alongside the tickets for the festival, once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as the chance to watch a set from the viewing platform of the Pyramid Stage; the opportunity to take part in the Festival’s famous opening ceremony parade, or hit the ‘fire’ button on Arcadia’s legendary Spider. Plus, many more!
All net proceeds will be going to the Trussell Trust, minus auction listing costs. Through this auction, Glastonbury Festival, and bidders across the country, will be supporting food banks in the Trussell Trust network with vital work supporting people facing hardship, while working to create a future where everyone has enough to afford the essentials we all need to live.
Emily Eavis, Co-organiser of Glastonbury Festivals said: “We are really pleased to be able to partner with the Trussell Trust, who together with their network of food banks, work tremendously hard during these challenging times to provide food and practical support for communities all over the country. We hope this rare ticket auction will help raise significant funds to support their remarkable work.”
Emma Revie, CEO of the Trussell Trust said: “Between April and September of last year, our network of food banks distributed a staggering 1.3million food parcels. People are struggling to survive amidst the soaring costs of food, energy bills and other essential items. We are extremely grateful to Glastonbury Festival for offering such amazing experiences and enabling us to launch an auction that will raise vital funds to support people facing hardship.”
The auction will be live from midday on Monday, 6 February. The lots will be released individually every 30 minutes, with the two top lots bookending the releases.
