World-class electronic music show, We Are FSTVL, celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. It’s where over 1,000 of the globe’s electronic elite have performed and the FSTVL tribe of half a million people have gathered since its inception in 2013.
The festival announced its phase one lineup last month. Packed with over 150 of the biggest electronic artists on the planet across 8 stages including The Prodigy, Michael Bibi, FISHER, Annie Mac, Carl Cox, Sonny Fodera, Folamour, Joel Corry, Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Vintage Culture, Andy C, Interplanetary Criminal, Amelie Lens, John Summit, LF System, Mochakk and many more, it’s no surprise that the next-level announcement resulted in a record number of sign ups and FSTVL goers’ excitement has hit an all time high.
There will be two new stage hosts added to the Saturday and Sunday FSTVL lineup; Drumcode Records, founded by long-serving Swedish techno producer Adam Beyer and FUSE LONDON, Enzo Siragusa’s label. Both Drumcode Records and Fuse will be making their We Are FSTVL debut this year. They join forces with world-class electronic brands Circoloco, Solid Grooves, Trick, XXL TECHNO, Eastenderz, Abode, Disco Disco, Foreverland, LoveJuice, Dance on Arrival and Boat Club for the ultimate tenth anniversary celebration.
FUSE London has had a notable impact on the electronic music scene since its inception. The label has become a major player in the industry, thanks to its distinctive sound and style. The label’s success has been recognized globally, with FUSE parties taking place around the world and Enzo Siragusa becoming a household name among the electronic music elite.
Drumcode’s success and legacy can be attributed to its unwavering commitment to quality techno music. The label has stayed true to its roots, releasing music that is designed for the dancefloor and always with the DJ in mind. With a discography spanning over two decades, Drumcode has become a true staple in the techno scene.
It’s only right that Adam Beyer himself leads the charge at the Drumcode arena on Saturday 26th August, alongside Carl Cox, Green Velvet, ANNA, Eli Brown, Juliet Fox and Layton Giordani. A heavyweight on the techno scene since the mid 90s, Adam remains one of the most in-demand DJs on the planet. Renowned for his creative mixing skills, which often include three turntables and fast-paced transitions, Adam is top of the list for major clubs and festivals across the world.
Last month saw the release of Adam’s anticipated single on the Drumcode imprint, aptly titled ‘Legend’. The track, which is currently number 22 on the Beatport Top 100, is set to become his biggest hit since ‘Your Mind’ and is driven by a mesmerising synth line, smooth pads, chants and a red-hot drop.
The mastermind also hosts a weekly radio show, ‘Drumcode Live’, which reaches over eleven million listeners – making it the world’s most listened to weekly techno broadcast.
Over on the Circoloco stage, South African dance legend Black Coffee will grace the airfield on Sunday 27th August with his blend of traditional African percussion and metropolitan techno – dubbed by many as ‘Afropolitan House’. A DJ, producer and entrepreneur, Black Coffee is a leading name in the electronic music scene who is on his way to becoming Africa’s biggest DJ thanks to continuously breaking musical boundaries.
Known for his star-studded collaborations including his remix of Alicia Keys’ ‘Common’ and Drake’s hit ‘Get It Together’, his most recent LP ‘Subconsciously’ features David Guetta, Diplo, Cassie, Usher and Pharrell Williams to name a few. Not only that, it bagged him a huge Grammy Award win for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2022.
With a series of residencies in some of the dance scene’s most iconic venues across the globe, including Hï Ibiza and The Wynn Las Vegas, as well as a hectic schedule of over 150 shows per year, Black Coffee is a force to be reckoned with. Just this month it was announced he was making history yet again as he revealed he will be the first South African DJ to perform at Madison Square Garden, New York later this year – something he has always dreamt of.
Described as ‘a firm favourite with Londoners thanks to big-name dance behemoths and equally big production values’ by TimeOut, We Are FSTVL 2023 is one not to miss.
