Festival season is almost upon us, and many Brits are already stocking up on camping equipment and festival-inspired outfits for a music-filled summer.
However, Rebbeca Bebbington, consumer finance expert at NetVoucherCodes issues a warning to 2025 Glastonbury ticket holders after new research reveals that Brits will be looking at a cost of £1,037.99 to attend the festival this year; this equates to £145.3 million for the festival’s 140,000 ticket holders.
As Glastonbury Festival ticket holders were required to pay off their remaining ticket balance by Sunday 7th April, NetVoucherCodes have calculated how much attendees will spend on festival essentials – covering everything from ticket and travel expenses, to the cost of a pint of cider.
The Cost to Attend Glastonbury – Key Findings:

To calculate the average cost to attend Glastonbury, NetVoucherCodes analysed the festival’s official pack list and tallied the costs of mid-range festival essentials for this year’s attendees.
At £378.50 a ticket, including booking fees, the 2025 edition of the festival is the most expensive version – ever. It marks a 5.1% increase on 2024’s ticket price of £360, and a 52.6% increase since 2019’s pre-pandemic festival, where tickets cost £248.
While the cost of a car space has remained the same at £55 per vehicle, a return bus ticket from London has seen an increase of 7.2% since 2024.
Elsewhere, the cost of food and drink at the festival is also set to impact wallets, with cider likely to cost £7 a pint this year. This is a 16.7% increase on 2022’s £6 pints, and a 3.7% increase from 2024’s £6.75 pints. On top of this, meals on-site will typically cost between £8 and £16, meaning that festival-goers can quickly spend over £200 across the five days of the event – just on food.
The rising cost-of-living can also be seen in other festival essentials, with a three-person tent now likely to set you back £55.24, a sleeping bag costing £21.21, and a camping chair priced at £12.99.

Carpool to save up to 75% on travel
“With Glastonbury car park tickets now costing £55 per vehicle, and petrol likely to set you back £40.18 for a return journey from London, combining travel with friends or carpooling could save a solo traveller £73 (75%) by sharing the journey with three other people. There are carpooling apps such as LiftShare that can help you find people to share the journey with, and there will also be Glastonbury-specific Facebook pages discussing carpooling arrangements.

Prep home-cooked food to save £60 across the week

Keep an eye out for discount codes for festival essentials
“Utilising online discount codes for festival essentials, such as tents and camping chairs, can be a shrewd way to trim expenses ahead of Glastonbury. Methodology.
NetVoucherCodes used Glastonbury Festival’s official online packing list to determine which festival essentials should be included within the research. Items including Glastonbury Festival ticket price, car park costs and bus costs were taken from the Glastonbury Festival website.
To take into account that attendees may travel via car, train or bus, the research calculated the costs of a return journey from London via each method and then took an average across the three modes of transport. For car travel, petrol costs were calculated at 129.7p per litre for unleaded, based on a journey from central London (254 miles return) at an average miles per gallon ratio (38.6). Train costs were taken from thetrainline on 31st March 2025, for an open return ticket from London Paddington to Castle Cary station, departing on 25th June 2025.
For costs for items such as cider, coffee and water. NetVoucherCodes analysed the price increases at Glastonbury Festivals from 2022 to 2024, and applied this average increase to 2025 – using GlastoFestFeed’s Glastonbury Food Stalls List to determine the typical cost of food and drink at past festivals, which range between £8-£16 per meal and an average of £12. Meals and cider were calculated to be bought three times per day each, across the five days of the festival, whilst coffee and water were calculated to be purchased once per day across five days. For the remaining items, the research identified mid-range products available on amazon.co.uk.
