Afro Nation Portugal has unveiled the highly anticipated second wave of artists for its 2026 edition, adding major international talent to an already star-studded bill. R&B star Kehlani, Brazilian powerhouse Ludmilla, and French sensation Theodora will join the festival, which is set to take over Praia da Rocha Beach in Portimão, The Algarve, from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th July 2026. Tickets for the world’s largest Afrobeats and Amapiano gathering remain on sale now.
These new additions join a massive initial roster that features global headliners Asake, Tyla, and Wizkid, alongside special guest Gunna. The festival, now in its monumental sixth edition, continues its tradition of bringing together the biggest names in Black music across the diaspora. With the festival recently nominated for International Festival of the Year at the UK Festival Awards 2025, anticipation is high for what promises to be another transformative summer celebration.
Leading the new announcement is special guest Kehlani, who will be making her debut appearance at Afro Nation. As one of the most influential voices in contemporary R&B, Kehlani brings a fearless artistry and chart-topping catalogue to the Portuguese coast. Her addition continues the festival’s successful trend of attracting top-tier US talent to perform alongside African giants, ensuring a diverse musical experience for the thousands of fans traveling from over 180 countries.
Also joining the LIT Stage is Afro-Latina star Ludmilla, one of Brazil’s biggest and most respected musical figures. Known for her explosive live energy and genre-crossing versatility, Ludmilla’s presence underscores the festival’s commitment to showcasing the wider sounds shaping modern Afro-influenced culture. Completing this wave of announcements is the “Boss Lady” Theodora, a Franco-Congolese artist who masterfully blends rap, R&B, Amapiano, and Afro-Caribbean sounds, representing the vibrant new French music scene.
Organisers have confirmed that more artists are still to come, including further names for the Piano People Stage and the complete lineup for the brand new Afrotronic Stage. This new stage is set to feature cutting-edge African electronic music, covering genres such as Amapiano, Afro House, Afro Tech, Gqom, 3-Step, Kwaito, and Bacardi.
For 2026, the festival has introduced official Travel Packages for the first time, designed to simplify the experience for international attendees. These all-in-one solutions combine festival tickets with accommodation from July 1st to 6th. The packages are available in four tiers—The Zen Den & Hangout, The House Of All Nations, The Marina Drip, and The Flex—catering to different budgets and travel styles to ensure a seamless premium experience from arrival to departure.
