Shindig Festival has unveiled the first wave of acts for its 2026 edition, promising a “Garden of Delights” at Charlton Park next May. South London’s chaotic punk-funk outfit Fat Dog and legendary funk band War will top the bill, with the latter performing their only UK show outside of London. The festival returns to Malmesbury from May 21st to 24th for the Bank Holiday weekend, solidifying its new home in the Cotswolds following a successful debut at the venue.

With Glastonbury Festival taking a fallow year in 2026 and Balter Festival confirming it will not return, Shindig organisers have positioned the event to fill the void. From “Last Ever” to Sold Out?
The festival’s current momentum marks a remarkable turnaround. In March 2024, directors announced that the 2024 event would be the “last ever”, citing rising costs and a lack of government support for independent festivals . However, following an outpouring of support, Shindig made a surprise return in 2025, framing its comeback as a protest movement to “save the scene” .
