Against The Current have announced their third studio album, Till Death & Back, which arrives on 30th October 2026. The New York rock trio have also shared new single “Protégé”, with a UK and EU tour starting on album release day in Glasgow.
The record is being framed as the fullest look yet at the independent era Chrissy Costanza, Dan Gow and Will Ferri have been building since stepping away from their early pop punk sound. Against The Current are also on the current cover of Kerrang! magazine as the campaign ramps up.
Vinyl and CD pre-orders launch this Friday (11th September), with a pre-save already live. Till Death & Back was executive produced by drummer Will Ferri, who brought in Erik Ron (Panic! at the Disco, Godsmack), Josh Gilbert (Spiritbox), Morwell and Josh Saldata for what the band are calling their most cohesive and uncompromising album to date.
“Protégé” follows album tracks “Heavenly”, “Always You & I” and “Dead Man Walking”. Where those songs dealt with love, fate, survival and devotion, the new single turns on the messier ways people influence, shape and challenge one another, recasting a familiar relationship as something more psychologically charged.
Taken together, the singles point to a record that keeps shifting gear. Till Death & Back moves between intimacy and confrontation, vulnerability and defiance, romanticism and darkness. Costanza said fate is “the thread running through every song on this album, the belief that what’s meant for you is bound to you across time. The cost is the fire, the fight, the version of yourself you don’t get back. Till Death & Back is the promise that no matter how far you go, the thread never breaks, not even in death.”
A performance video for “Protégé” is out now and shown above. The album lands as Against The Current mark 15 years together, having formed in 2011 when Costanza, Gow and Ferri were 15. After the 2021 EP Fever they went independent, with 2024 singles “silent stranger”, “blindfolded” and “good guy” pulling in more than 40 million streams worldwide.
UK fans have already seen that new chapter up close. The band took their Nightmares & Daydreams tour through the country in late 2023, then followed Slam Dunk with intimate summer shows in Manchester and London in 2024. This autumn’s run is being billed as their largest UK and European rooms yet, including London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
Against The Current have also kept a foothold in gaming through their Riot Games collaboration “Legends Never Die”, which has now passed one billion streams globally. Tickets for the Till Death & Back tour are on sale now.
