Ariana Grande has announced her eighth studio album, petal, set for release on July 31 via Republic Records, alongside the lead single “hate that i made you love me”, which arrives on May 29.
The track is co-produced by ILYA and Max Martin, two of pop music’s most decorated hitmakers, and marks Grande’s first new solo material since her 2024 album eternal sunshine. In a statement shared alongside the announcement, Grande called it “one of my favorite songs I’ll ever write”, adding that she “simply cannot’t wait for it to be yours.” The album is executive produced and co-written by Grande and ILYA.

The album arrives on the back of an extraordinary run for Grande, whose previous album eternal sunshine debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and became the longest-running number-one album of her career. It spawned back-to-back Hot 100 number-one debuts with “yes, and?” and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love).”
Grande has earned nine number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and holds the record for the third-most number-one song debuts of any artist in history. She previously made chart history as the first artist since The Beatles to simultaneously occupy the top three spots on the Hot 100.
Away from music, Grande recently starred as Glinda alongside Cynthia Erivo in Jon M. Chu’s two-part Wicked film adaptation, which has collectively grossed over $1.2 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film series ever based on a Broadway musical. Her performance earned her Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA, Critics Choice, and SAG Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress.
Grande has also completed production on Universal’s Focker-In-Law, in which she stars opposite Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, due for release this November. In 2027, she will make her stage debut on London’s West End in a revival of Sunday in the Park with George opposite Jonathan Bailey.
