Ariana Grande crowned queen of the shower singalong, beating Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande has been crowned the artist we most love to belt out in the shower, according to new research from Alpine Hearing Protection. The hearing protection specialists analysed 10 of the most popular Spotify shower-themed playlists and found Grande featured 37 times, putting her ahead of Taylor Swift (32 appearances) and Bruno Mars (26 appearances).

The findings land as Grande continues her Eternal Sunshine tour, currently playing UK dates at London’s O2 Arena. Alpine Hearing Protection CEO Arthur van Keeken pointed to the timing, saying: “Ariana Grande’s chart-topping run in the shower rankings mirrors her popularity on stage, with the singer currently performing at the O2 for her UK leg of the Eternal Sunshine tour.”

Rounding out the top five shower artists were Olivia Rodrigo in fourth with 23 appearances and Katy Perry in fifth with 22. Beyoncé and Rihanna tied for sixth place with 21 appearances each, while Tate McRae (19), Sabrina Carpenter (18) and Chappell Roan (15) completed the top 10. The list is dominated entirely by pop acts, with Alpine Hearing Protection noting a “strong preference for pop when it comes to shower soundtracks”, built around recognisable, sing-along-friendly hits.

Beyond individual artists, the research also dug into specific tracks. Beyoncé’s 2003 hit “Crazy in Love” emerged as the single most frequently featured song across the playlists analysed, cropping up five times. The methodology involved reviewing 10 of the most popular and saved Spotify shower playlists, tallying how often each artist and track recurred, then ranking the results from most to fewest appearances. The data was collected on 17 August and is accurate as of that date.

Van Keeken used the findings to issue a wider reminder about hearing safety as the summer festival season winds down. “As the summer live music season is coming to a close, it’s worth remembering that the volumes we enjoy at home rarely match what we’re exposed to at a concert or festival,” he said. “Whether fans are heading to see her or another favourite artist, hearing protection should be high on the list of concert essentials.”

He specifically highlighted the brand’s Alpine Tune earplugs, describing them as “a new generation of earplugs, ideal for concerts, festivals and club nights, with an advanced music filter that reduces volume evenly across all frequencies, while still keeping music clear and speech easy to hear.” According to Alpine Hearing Protection, the earplugs are “engineered for fans to savour their music experience without losing any of the atmosphere.”
