Basement Jaxx will bring their full live show to Live at The Piece Hall on Friday 25 June 2027, the second announcement of the day for the Halifax summer series.

The show follows this morning’s reveal of Robert Plant with Saving Grace and Suzi Dian. Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe will headline the Grade I listed courtyard with a set built around anthems including Red Alert, Do Your Thing, Jump And Shout and Where’s Your Head At.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 6 November via Ticketmaster. More information is at thepiecehall.co.uk.

The duo stepped away from live performance for about 10 years before bringing the show back in 2025. Where many of their contemporaries leaned on technology, Buxton and Ratcliffe have stuck with a maximalist stage, using singers, MCs, musicians and troupes of dancers to turn the gig into what organisers call a life-affirming carnival.

The catalogue runs from the million-selling 1999 debut Remedy and 2001 follow-up Rooty to the double platinum UK Number One collection The Singles. Along the way they picked up two BRIT Awards and a GRAMMY. Iconic shows have included The Hollywood Bowl and headline slots on both the Pyramid Stage and The Other Stage at Glastonbury. The current live show has already taken in Coachella, Sydney Opera House, Fuji Rock Festival in Japan and London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Nicky Chance-Thompson MBE DL FRSA, CEO of The Piece Hall Charitable Trust, said she had been hoping for a “rendez-vu” with Basement Jaxx for a long time. “They’ve got that incredibly rare combination of having had huge chart success without ever losing any of their club cool,” she said. “I love it when our hugely versatile building sees the courtyard turn into a dancefloor. With so many massive tracks, this will be a high energy, hands in the air kind of show and I’m so here for it. Dancing shoes at the ready.”

Basement Jaxx are the latest name for Live at The Piece Hall 2027. The series already includes Robert Plant with Saving Grace and Suzi Dian, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Kula Shaker and REEF, Joe Bonamassa, Angine De Poitrine, Kraftwerk, Pete Tong Ibiza Classics, Suki Waterhouse, Rudimental, Bananarama, Slash, Rick Astley, The Saw Doctors, Kaiser Chiefs, Alfie Boe, Ronan Keating, Jack Savoretti and James Morrison, plus three nights with Simply Red. The Piece Hall opened in 1779 for the trading of “pieces” of cloth and is the only remaining Georgian cloth hall in the world. It reopened on 1 August 2017 and has since welcomed more than 20 million visitors. The 66,000 sq ft courtyard hosts shops, bars, restaurants and a year-round programme of music, exhibitions and markets. In 2025 it was named Inspirational Venue of the Year at the Northern Music Awards, won the Backstage Brilliance Award at the Live Awards, and took the Muddy Stilettoes Best Arts Culture & Theatre Award.

The duo have been busy on the UK circuit. They are booked to headline the inaugural SMK Live at Stadium MK on Saturday 27 June 2026, and Friday of Big Feastival 2026 at Alex James’ Farm. A DJ set is also on the bill for Snowbombing 2027. The Halifax date is a full live show, not a DJ set.
