This November, BRIT Award winning grime artist – CASISDEAD – has confirmed his first ever Liverpool show at the brand new inner city festival: Favourite Days.
A rare opportunity to catch the enigmatic London Grime MC and producer sensation in the flesh and outside of his native London, it will see him performing tracks from his UK Top 10 charting debut album ‘Famous Last Words’, alongside deep cuts.
CASISDEAD is a British rapper, producer, and songwriter from North London, known for his anonymity and dark, introspective lyrics. Originally performing as CAS in the early 2000s, he re-emerged in 2013 with a new persona, wearing a skeletal mask and adopting the name CASISDEAD. His music blends grime, trap, and synthwave, with themes of crime, addiction, and inner struggles, showcased in tracks like “What’s My Name?” and the ‘The Number 23’ mixtape.
In 2024, CASISDEAD received further recognition for his impact on UK music with a BRIT Award win for best Hip Hop/Rap/Grime Act, and received widespread acclaim for his long-awaited debut album ‘Famous Last Words’ of the previous year.
‘Famous Last Words’ is as much a sci-fi film as it is a rap record, a labyrinth of vice, crime and faded glamour. The album featured a carefully curated roll call of collaborators including Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant, Desire, and Connie Constance, with the vocalists immersed in CASISDEAD’s hallmark 80’s-inspired synthpop soundscapes, produced with the assistance of Stranger Things composer Kyle Dixon and ‘Italian’s Do It Better’ label founder Johnny Jewel. The resultant record was praised as “one of the year’s most compelling and engrossing albums – not just in UK rap, but in British music in general” (4.5/5 – DIY), whereas Line of Best Fit’s 9/10 review hailed the record as “a fascinating glimpse into the creative mind of one of the UK’s most clandestine yet unstoppable forces”.
Despite his low profile, sporadic releases and sparse live tours, CASISDEAD has developed a dedicated cult following and remains a significant figure in the UK underground scene. For those in the know, debut appearance in Liverpool is a rare booking and one to savour every second of this Autumn. Support will come from EMZ and No Fakin X W/Love X Conduit Sound.
