Deep Purple have announced the upcoming release of their new studio album, SPLAT!, which will arrive on July 3rd 2026 via earMUSIC. The legendary rock band have also confirmed an extensive 2026 touring schedule featuring 86 shows across 28 countries on three continents.
Frontman Ian Gillan has described the new record as the heaviest Deep Purple album in many years, noting that the band recorded the tracks playing together in the studio. “Where we are now with this incarnation of Deep Purple feels very much like a very ‘now’ version of Deep Purple as it was in the seventies,” Gillan stated.
The album sees the band teaming up once again with renowned producer Bob Ezrin, who previously helmed their 2024 album =1. Gillan explained that the new material is highly compatible with classic tracks like Highway Star and Smoke on the Water, bringing back the dynamics, balance and fun of their early seventies work.
At the core of SPLAT! is a conceptual idea conceived by Gillan that explores the end of humanity. Rather than treating the end as a crude apocalyptic destruction, the album imagines it as a metamorphosis beyond physical existence. More details about the concept will be revealed in the weeks leading up to the July release.
Fans can pre-order the album today in a variety of physical and digital formats. Physical editions include a standard CD digisleeve, a classic black 180g double LP, and limited edition purple or transparent yellow double LPs. All vinyl editions from the first pressing will include a rich 12-page booklet featuring illustrations and song lyrics.
A comprehensive limited box set is also available, containing the double vinyl, CD, and three exclusive 10-inch records featuring live recordings from the Deep Purple Tour 2024. The box set also includes an exclusive 7-inch single featuring the bonus track GUINNESIS, which does not appear on the standard studio album.
Additional exclusive items will be sold via the official artist store, including a limited picture disc, a cassette edition, and a strictly limited canvas signed by all band members, restricted to just 199 copies worldwide.
