The UK’s first national festival for tradespeople, FixFest, is set to take place tomorrow, Saturday 30th August, at the South of England Showground in West Sussex. Headlined by Dizzee Rascal, the event will also feature performances from Scouting for Girls, Toploader and The Cuban Brothers, with tickets still on sale.
Organised by Fix Radio, the national station for tradespeople, FixFest has been created to celebrate builders, plumbers, electricians and carpenters. Alongside the music, the event aims to shine a spotlight on the mental health emergency within the construction industry, where workers are almost four times more at risk of suicide than the national average.
Headliner Dizzee Rascal commented on his involvement, saying: “I trained as a plasterer during lockdown, so I’ve got real respect for the trades. Builders and tradies don’t always get the credit they deserve, so I’m buzzing to be part of a brand-new festival that’s celebrating them and shining a light on all their hard work.”

Billed as the last big festival of the summer, FixFest celebrates builders, plumbers, electricians and carpenters with a huge day of music and community. But it also shines a spotlight on a sobering fact: two construction workers die by suicide every working day, making the sector almost four times more at risk than the national average.

At the heart of the event will be The Power House, a free wellbeing zone offering one-to-one advice and support.
Fix Radio CEO Louis Timpany adds: “Construction is the backbone of Britain – but it’s facing a skills shortage and a mental health emergency. FixFest is about celebrating the trades and showing support where it’s most needed.”
