Where are the showers at Glastonbury 2024?

If you’re new to Glastonbury this year and looking forward to your first night of camping, you might be wondering where the showers are. The short answer is there aren’t really any public showers at Glastonbury – sorry!

In recent years, the answer has been there are a few showers available at the bottom of the Kidzfield and some eco-friendly showers in the Greenpeace Field. Not only will you have to walk all the way there, which could be an hour round trip depending on where you’re camped, but you’ll have to queue for a long time – especially in the morning.

The Greenpeace showers have given out numbered tickets to people waiting and you have to come back when your number is called. You could be waiting a good few hours in the morning but at least you can get some breakfast while you’re waiting.

Alternatively, if you pay to use one of the saunas like Lost Horizons you’ll probably get to use a shower while you’re there. Of course, if you’re volunteering, working or in a hospitality area, you’ll likely get access to your own showers in your campsite.

The best way to get a shower in public camping is to bring a solar shower with you next time! If you’re lucky, you might be able to buy one from a camping stall on-site, otherwise, you’ll need to get a bucket of water and do the best you can. Don’t hold people up washing under the water taps when there’s a queue!

Glastonbury officials say: “Due to the enormous demands on our water supply, Glastonbury is not able to offer large numbers of public showers. For those desperate for a shower, there are a small number of showers available at the bottom of the Kidzfield and in the Greenpeace field, but you should expect to queue for a while to use them.

“Otherwise, we’d just recommend packing a wash cloth and a bar of soap for a good ol’ fashioned strip wash and making do – it’s the true Glastonbury way!”

Biodegradable wet wipes get a lot of people through the festival, but they aren’t really eco-friendly and the organisers ask people not to bring them.
