Glastonbury: Michael Eavis confirms Wolf Alice will be on the line-up in 2020

Glastonbury Festival founder Michael Eavis has said Wolf Alice will “definitely be on next year’s Glastonbury lineup for sure”, with the band set to appear at Glastonbury’s Pilton Party this September.

“Wolf Alice are a really fantastic band,” Eavis told Bristol Live. “They were so good at the Pilton Party in 2015 and then again on the Pyramid Stage in 2016. It’s no wonder they won the Mercury last year.

“They were really keen to come and play the party for us again. We love hosting bands who want to play it and they’re just so fantastic live.”

Pilton Party is an annual ‘thank you’ event organised by Glastonbury for local residents and workers. Artists appearing at Pilton Party typically feature on the line-up of the next Glastonbury Festival. Liam Gallagher headlined last year’s Pilton Party, which raised thousands of pounds for a Pilton village fund.

Michael Eavis also told Bristol Live a ‘special guest’ will be revealed at 6am on the morning of this year’s Pilton Party, set for Friday 6th September. He said: “They’re a big, big band who are reforming just for this. They’ve got loads of hit records and they’re going to be absolutely great, I can’t wait to see them.

“I expect a lot of people will want to get a ticket on the gate after they’re announced. As always, it’s going to be a really super night – especially if the weather is kind to us.”

Michael also revealed blue and white pre-pitched tents will form ‘an ocean’ around the Glastonbury-on-sea pier next year.

Pattern Pusher and Sam Richardson & the Renegades complete the Pilton Party 2019 line-up, with live music finishing around 11pm and a DJ until midnight. Free shuttle buses into Glastonbury and Shepton will be available after the show. Gates open at 5pm.

Pilton Party 2019 tickets are now available online for £30 from SeeTickets.
