The UK’s largest free vegan festival is heading to Birmingham on Saturday 25th April, as Vegfest Free takes over Edgbaston Cricket Ground for a one-day celebration of plant-based living. Organisers are expecting a crowd of up to 3,000, with advance tickets available free of charge.
The event is backed by food entrepreneur Heather Mills, who is sponsoring the festival through her new wellness food brand No Bloat. Alongside up to 150 plant-based stalls and more than 40 speakers and performers, the day will feature live music, comedy, spoken word, and a full outdoor programme from morning to evening.
Tickets are completely free to the public, though advance registration is required. In a landscape where most large-scale events come with significant ticket costs, Vegfest Free has made access central to its mission, offering free stall space to charities, community interest companies, animal sanctuaries, authors, artists and selected start-ups.
Heather Mills will be exhibiting her No Bloat brand on the day, with samples of the brand’s gut-friendly ready-meal pouches available to try. Designed for people following a Low FODMAP lifestyle or managing digestive issues, No Bloat has already appeared at major trade shows in New York and Dubai. “Our convenient ready meal pouches are designed for people on the go who want real, nourishing food without the risk of discomfort,” says Mills. “Whether you’re managing bloating or following a Low FODMAP lifestyle, every pouch supports your gut and your goals.”

Mills is clear about why she wanted to be involved: “Now more than ever it’s time to support each other and work together within the broader vegan community. Vegfest Free presents a unique opportunity to extend solidarity to so many organisations whilst introducing thousands of people to the benefits of plant-based lifestyles.”
Birmingham was chosen specifically for its diverse food culture and growing appetite for sustainable lifestyle options. Alongside national brands, the event will spotlight several Midlands-based artisan food producers, giving visitors the chance to sample everything from street food and sweet treats to sustainable pantry staples. Organisers say the event is designed to show “just how accessible and enjoyable plant-based living can be,” whether visitors are coming for health, environmental, or ethical reasons.
The line-up of speakers and performers is extensive. The Birmingham show will welcome:
- Actor and producer Dan Richardson
- West End singer Roger Wright
- Plamil Foods director Adrian Ling
- One Planet Pizza director Joe Hill
- Dr Shireen Kassam and representatives from Plant Based Health Professionals UK
