A brand-new dance festival is set to make its debut on the Isle of Wight this summer, with organisers of the Isle of Wight Dance Weekender revealing a full line-up headlined by Chicane, East 17, So Solid Crew, Professor Green, Majestic, Dave Pearce, and Edele Andaya.
After six months of planning, the team behind the event say the weekender is designed to be more than a one-off — billing it as the start of something that will grow year on year. The festival is positioned as a family-friendly, all-ages event, open to everyone from die-hard dance music fans to first-time festival-goers.
The line-up spans dance music’s full spectrum, from the euphoric, chart-topping sounds of Chicane and the anthemic hip-hop of Professor Green, to the old-school garage and grime energy of So Solid Crew and the enduring pop legacy of East 17. BBC Radio 1 legend Dave Pearce brings his decades of dance music expertise to the bill, while Majestic and Edele Andaya add further depth. Further acts are still to be announced.
The Isle of Wight has established itself as a serious destination for live music — the Isle of Wight Festival took home the Best Large Festival award at the 2024 UK Music Festival Awards — and the Dance Weekender looks to build on that reputation with a dedicated electronic and pop event that serves a different audience.
The festival will run across three distinct arenas, each with its own identity and atmosphere. The main arena will be housed inside a huge big-top circus-style structure, kitted out with state-of-the-art sound systems, advanced lighting rigs, visual effects and world-class laser displays. Organisers say it has been designed to deliver “maximum impact from the first beat to the final encore.”
The second stage, dubbed the Forest Arena, takes a very different approach. Nestled within natural woodland, the outdoor stage combines the beauty of its surroundings with high-tech sound and lighting, along with atmospheric special effects that aim to transform the trees into something altogether more otherworldly.
For those after a more premium experience, the VIP Arena offers an exclusive and intimate vibe with a deliberately curated twist — all DJs in this space will play exclusively on vinyl, celebrating the roots of dance music culture. Guests can enjoy handcrafted cocktails in a more relaxed setting, without compromising on sound quality or atmosphere.
