Kurupt FM have made their return today (Friday 28 August) with new EP GDWDMA, out now via MDSK (0151). The Brentford crew will follow it with a sold out UK tour this December.
The record is billed as a homage to the dance. It includes bouncy wheel up ode Reload, Tek Time produced by Merseyside DJ Jack Marlow, and Young Franco assisted, Cassius sampling banger Feelings.
New singles Gyal and Hold The Mic are also on the EP, which the camp say further cement MC Grindah’s status as the best MC in the Galaxy.
December’s run takes in Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and London. Every date is already sold out.
GDWDMA is available to stream and buy now. The UK shows follow a successful Australia and New Zealand tour in January 2026.
What started as DIY YouTube webisodes from a group of friends in Brentford became BAFTA winning BBC mockumentary People Just Do Nothing, which ran for five series between 2014 and 2018. The crew picked up support from Ed Sheeran, Craig David, Big Narstie and David Hasselhoff along the way, and collected a BAFTA and Royal Television Society Award for Best Scripted Comedy in 2017.
They moved beyond pirate radio with mixtape The Lost Tape, released through XL Recordings in 2017, then debut studio album The Greatest Hits (Part 1) in 2021. That record featured Craig David, Jaykae, Mist, D Double E and General Levy, reached the UK Top 10, and proved the joke could still go off in the charts.
Live, they have become one of the UK’s most unique acts, blending garage, rave and comedy into total chaos. Festival appearances include Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, they packed out Boomtown last summer, and they have also shut down Printworks London, Drumsheds and a 10 year anniversary headline show at Brixton Academy in 2024 celebrating a decade of People Just Do Nothing.
The Kurupt FM Podkast launched in 2019, and 2021 feature film People Just Do Nothing: Big In Japan sent MC Grindah, DJ Beats, Steves and Chabuddy G from Brentford to Tokyo. More than a decade on from those first homemade videos, they are still broadcasting for the chamunity, still repping West London, and still insisting that Kurupt FM, the rest are irrelevant.
