Maverick Sabre continues to celebrate his seminal debut album Lonely Are The Brave, recruiting Conducta to serve up his take on the Gold, 2011 hit single ‘I Need’. The award-winning DJ and multi-platinum producer delivers a fresh spin on the original track in this garage-driven, club-banger version.
This release follows a massive 2022 for Maverick as he closed out the year celebrating the 10 year anniversary of his seminal debut album Lonely Are The Brave. Maverick revisited the project, reclaiming his masters as he independently released the re-recorded album Lonely Are The Brave (Mav’s Version) on 18th November via FAMM. The 19-track project blended reworked and fresh material to entice both new and long-time listeners alike, featuring the original album re-recorded in full alongside 3 demos from the time of the original recording and 3 stripped-back acoustic versions. Maverick took the album on the road throughout December in a UK+IRE tour, closing with two sold-out dates at London’s KOKO.
It’s been 10 years since Maverick Sabre first arrived on the UK scene as a fresh-faced Irish (but Hackney, London born) singer, songwriter and artist. Championed by Plan B, his music drew a line between the Irish, American and UK rap scenes he grew up on and the timeless blues and trad Irish music of his family’s heritage. The prolific artist shared his fourth album Don’t Forget To Look Up in early 2022. With songs varying from recollections of previous relationships to zooming out and examining the societal pressures placed on couples, it’s a project that is both intimate and inquisitive at the same time. The album saw Maverick call on collaborators Nile Rogers and Sasha Keable and was supported by the likes of Highsnobiety, CRACK, Complex UK, CLASH, TRENCH, GUAP, Wordplay Magazine and more.
