McFly have been announced as headliners for the Chelmsford Summer Series, taking over Central Park in Chelmsford on Saturday 29th August 2026 as part of the August Bank Holiday weekend. The show, running from 1pm to 10pm across two stages, is being presented in association with Heart, and further acts are still to be revealed.
The gig carries a distinctly personal significance for the band. Drummer Harry Judd was born in Chelmsford, while bassist Dougie Poynter hails from nearby Corringham, making it a rare and genuine hometown occasion for two of the band’s four members. Set across 35 acres of parkland in the heart of the city, the Central Park site offers a striking backdrop that combines open green space with a riverside setting and a historic railway viaduct.

It has been 21 years since McFly first formed, and the band remain one of the most enduring acts in British pop.
