Ahead of their upcoming major stage production, festival sideshow legends The Electric Hamster Race have unveiled the results of their latest mad science experiment: Monster Electric Hamsters!
Developed by the Hamster Gang’s resident Unstable Lad, Dr. Damo, these giant beasts stand taller than a Capybara, and are sturdy enough to carry a fully grown human during their exhibition displays.
The Monster Electric Hamsters were shown to a gathering of the most hardcore Hamster Heads at Maui Waui’s associated Mayfair Bar in Bungay, Suffolk, where they wowed and frightened fans in equal measure. Some even asked, “Has hamster-science gone too far?”
Rumoured to contain genetic material from both a Segway and a willow tree, these monstrous, rideable creations will make their full debut on March 8, as part of The Electric Hamster Race’s headline show, “The Incredible (but True) Story of Hamster Racing… (with a Touch of Gerbil)“, at the Yarmouth Hippodrome.
This two-hour spectacle takes place in three acts, featuring everything from storytelling and comedy to interactive hamster hi-jinks, all set in the 120-year-old circus venue, beginning at 7:30 pm.
After the show, the party continues just down the seafront at the Empire, with a Secret Hamster Racing Underground Gathering (SHRUG) running until 4:00 am. Expect live music from Aartwork (psychedelic ceilidh band), Tangles (guilt-free daydream folk), Slim Pickings (dub and reggae), and top-notch DJs from GoodFund.
It’s shaping up to be the greatest event in Great Yarmouth’s history.
