Birmingham’s Moseley Folk and Arts Festival has unveiled a massive wave of new artists for its 20th anniversary edition, with Irish chart-toppers Kingfishr, Welsh legends Super Furry Animals, and punk-folk hero Frank Turner leading the latest additions.
The three-day festival, taking place from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2026 at Moseley Park, has also confirmed Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams, sea shanty group The Longest Johns, and Birmingham’s own Katherine Priddy among more than 20 newly announced acts.
Kingfishr will headline Friday night, marking a major coup for the West Midlands boutique festival. The rising Irish band had a breakout 2025, with their debut album Halcyon hitting number one in Ireland and single “Killeagh” becoming the country’s most-listened-to track of the year after spending more than 15 weeks at the top of the charts.
Saturday’s headliners Super Furry Animals will make their long-awaited return to live performance after almost a decade apart. The Welsh icons are expected to deliver a set spanning three decades of genre-defying work, creative experimentation and cult classics.
Sunday will see Frank Turner take to the main stage, bringing his uncompromising punk-folk energy to Moseley Park. The Guinness World Record holder for most concerts headlined in 24 hours (15 across multiple cities) released his latest album Undefeated in 2024, following 2022’s number one record FTHC.
Also performing Sunday is multiple-Grammy winner Lucinda Williams, whose 16th studio album World’s Gone Wrong was released just weeks ago to critical acclaim. The American singer-songwriter’s latest work has been described as her most provocative and urgent to date.
Birmingham favourite Katherine Priddy returns to the festival on Saturday, currently on her biggest UK tour ahead of her third album These Frightening Machines, due for release on 6 March via Cooking Vinyl.

The lineup showcases Ireland’s thriving music scene with several additions beyond Kingfishr. The Wran will bring their psychedelic-tinged Irish traditional music to Saturday, while alt-folk artist Junior Brother and sold-out Dublin six-piece Madra Salach also feature. TikTok sensation Dave Lofts, a Kingfishr labelmate, rounds out the Irish contingent on Friday.
British ’60s folk legends Jacqui McShee’s Pentangle and London quartet Goblin Band join the bill, alongside international acts including Australia’s Folk Bitch Trio and Brooklyn-based lo-fi folk artist Hudson Freeman.
Several Birmingham acts will grace the festival’s 20th anniversary, including The Destroyers, who performed at the very first Moseley Folk in 2006, plus prog-folk group Bonfire Radicals, Gingham, and singer-songwriter Aayushi. Scotland’s Curiosity Shop, hotly-tipped Londoners Little Grandad, and regular festival hoedown callers Cut A Shine complete the latest additions.
They join previously announced headliners The Dead South (Sunday) and Johnny & Lillie Flynn (Saturday), plus Saturday’s Joshua Burnside.
Co-founder and co-director Gerv Havill said: “This year, we’re very proud to celebrate 20 years of Moseley Folk and Arts Festival! Two decades of bringing the best in folk, roots and americana to our humble local park for your entertainment. This year, we’re excited to see not only such amazing artists as Super Furry Animals, Lucinda Williams and Kingfishr making their Moseley Folk debuts, but also so many fantastic acts returning to our stages.”
Tier Three tickets go on sale today (Friday 30 January) at 10am, priced at £165 for an adult weekend pass and £60 for a day ticket, after the first two tiers sold out. Under-12s go free, with under-18 weekend tickets at £64 and family weekend passes at £375.
Further lineup additions and details of the festival’s Arts strand will be announced soon. Full details available at moseleyfolk.co.uk.
