Moseley Folk & Arts Festival has announced the first wave of artists for its 2026 edition, which will mark the event’s 20th anniversary. The festival returns to the private Moseley Park in Birmingham from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2026.
Confirmed to perform at the historic celebration are Juno Award-winning Canadian bluegrass quartet The Dead South, a unique sibling collaboration between Johnny and Lillie Flynn, and experimental Irish folk artist Joshua Burnside.
Tier Two tickets for the weekend will go on sale at 10am on Friday 12 December 2025 via moseleyfolk.co.uk. Tier One tickets have already sold out. Adult weekend tickets are priced at £157.50, with day tickets available for £56. Family weekend passes are £357, while tickets for under-18s are £33. Children under 12 can attend for free.
The Dead South are set to perform on Sunday 6 September. Known for their distinctive blend of banjo and mandolin with rock attitudes, the band arrives following the success of their 2024 album Chains And Stakes. Organisers describe them as one of the biggest bluegrass-influenced acts in the world today.
Saturday 5 September will feature a special performance by Johnny and Lillie Flynn. Johnny Flynn, known for his acting roles in Stardust and The Detectorists as well as his music career, is teaming up with his sister Lillie to perform songs inspired by the traditional music of their childhood. Lillie Flynn brings her own extensive experience from West End productions including Wicked and Sunny Afternoon.
Also appearing on Saturday is Belfast’s Joshua Burnside. Blending alternative electronica with Irish folk, Burnside has been hailed by SiriusXM as “the best songwriter in Ireland right now”. He will be touring his upcoming album It’s Not Going To Be Okay, which is slated for release in March 2026.
This announcement kicks off the celebrations for the festival’s 20th year. Since its inception in 2006 as a small two-day event, Moseley Folk has grown into one of the West Midlands’ best-loved festivals, hosting major names like Father John Misty, The Waterboys, and Supergrass.
Gerv Havill, the festival’s co-founder and co-director, said: “As we gear up to celebrate our 20th year, we’re excited to reveal the first few acts for our 2026 edition. The Dead South are one of the biggest bluegrass-influenced acts in the world; Joshua Burnside is more proof that Ireland is presently home to a hugely exciting and forward thinking music scene; while Johnny and Lille Flynn’s official team-up has been a long time coming, and is much anticipated.”
Fellow co-founder Carl Phillips added: “We can’t believe it’s 20 years since the very first Moseley Folk. We’ve enjoyed many special festivals since then, but this year will be even more special.”
Further additions to the line-up, including the main headliners, are expected to be announced in the new year. The festival will also mark the anniversary with a run of stand-alone concerts running alongside the main September event.
